Could be. Hoping you're right.

I'm waiting for this to be a "GOTCHA" moment. PK and Kipp Adams ruined DJ Smith's announcement by putting out video and their articles before he made it on TV and like he wanted. Kipp and PK are now calling Scott to Tenn, so I think our hope right now would be that Scott is trying to punk them.
Doubtful. I really don't understand how a guy who USC has been recruiting for several years gets swayed to a team that hasn't had a winning record for a while, and doesn't look to change that trend anytime soon, in the course of just a few months.

The Georgia 247 guy changed his prediction to USC from UGA on Green

lord they need to relax on the Sawyer page...I talk to him often and was just asking his opinion on it. now they feel like acting like my parent. Anyways, since y'all won't bitch about me talking to him about it ill tell y'all. We were just talking about eligibility and Sawyer said he just hasn't taken it in a while and isn't concerned about it. Will do fine tomorrow so he'll qualify.

forreal...its been a struggle with them today, oh well. Sawyer feels confident about it though, excited for his OV next weekend

1 - Early playing time.
2 - UT has been finding ways to cheat players from the state of SC and NC since Moses wore knickers. Tennessee has relied on NC and SC for most of their best talent for as long as I can remember, and they have people who know all of the underground tricks to make it happen. Never underestimate the lengths at which UT is willing to go to get back near the top. Their fans, their boosters, are every bit as devious and deceitful as the taterhead big money boosters are ... and then some.

BAW said he had a good visit to Bama but he's still a solid Gamecock

Caldwell is no longer coming to USC, he can't qualify around a
This didn't become an issue until now because of the SEC rule that a JUCO prospect who was a non-qualifier has to be at the same school for three semesters. It was believed this wasn't a factor since Caldwell was at Illinois for two seasons which should have meant he was deemed a qualifier. USC appealed to the SEC but that appeal has been denied.
Damn, we really need Wideman to flip now. Sawyer and Thomas aren't locks to qualify.

That sucks ... but it's not a big surprise, is it?
You could tell by the way things were going and them talking to Poona Ford again that something was askew in terms of DLinemen qualifying.
We're still fine with what we have returning plus the ones that will qualify and enroll. All this means is that the 2015 class is going to have to be stacked and loaded with DLinemen.

Caldlwell, Sawyer and Thomas all had academic work to do to get in. I was surprised about Caldwell though, simply b/c they had spent so much time checking his academics out, then rushed into accepting a commitment only to find a week later that he's not going to make it in....this is not acceptable, someone didn't do what they were supposed to, the process shouldn't look like this.

... and Scott just picked UTK.
Epic failure by the coaching staff not to pull him in.

I know we have considerable depth at that position so it's clear why he made the decision he did, but yeah, you lead for a guy for that long, you gotta close the deal.

But that's the thing: we don't have depth after next year. Davis is gone at the end of next season, and that leaves Wilds, Williams, and maybe Carson. That's not enough heading into '15. And, if the coaching staff whiffed that badly on a kid they had been recruiting since he was a sophomore, what makes anyone comfortable with the thought process that they'll go and get TWO quality running backs next cycle?
It's pretty clear to me that the recruiting is simply not strong enough to get over the hump (not saying Scott would've done it, but we've had a few big-time misses this class). And it's only going to get worse as Spurrier ages, because people will continue to use his age against him until he inevitably does retire.

We'll be fine at RB. RB is one of those positions where a true freshman can come in and contribute right away if need be.
We'll get a stud RB, or two, in this next class.
Our problem is our coaches are sort of limited in what they can do because our numbers are relatively limited right now. I don't think Spurrier's age is playing into it - it's not a factor. And if it is then we've got bigger problems than I was aware of - speaking of the heir apparents that is.

I think we are sitting pretty strong for '15 and to get a huge RB for '15's class.
Barring injury, Mike Davis will have an All SEC/possibly All American year next year. We'll got out with the pitch, "Come to USC, we have had All SEC/All American RB's for the past 4 years, you are next."
In '15 We'll have a two 5th year Sr's with starting experience, a RS Soph who might end up being the starter that season and a Top Tier '15 cycle RB recruit.
Nyheim Hines, and Bryce Love are 2 that I thought of off the top of my head. I would expect us to put out more offers and go after the top talent in the southeast.
It will work out, we've been getting great talent over the past 6 years.

Oh well....if we strike gold on both Green and Lammons, which will give us a solid 3-deep at CB, I guess Smith bounces back to RB?
I'll wait for it to become official on the online sites before pulling Caldwell from the OP list....several are still showing him as a commit. But it isn't looking good for us there. I guess that's probably what was holding up the initial commitment from being official: USC waiting on it's appeal to the SEC offices....
