Colorado was an indictment on A&M's offense. Aside from the Alabama game, the A&M offense has been bad all season.
So, looking at the stats, I misspoke.
Iowa State is #3 in total defense and Oklahoma State is #18.
Mississippi State would be the #3 defense in the Big 12. They're the #5 defense in the SEC.
Oklahoma is 1 spot above A&M in total defense.

I cannot remember the last time OU beat A&M - it has been awhile. I cannot remember the last time Texas had a decent defense. Been awhile there as well. I hope they both get in soon because neither has the pieces to be remotely competitive against real competition
