Was sorry to see this news. Looks like they are having a hard time finding a conference to join.

I have mixed feelings about this. On one hand, they played an additional two seasons thanks to donors and it's incredibly difficult to find a conference or cut expense when you're the only D1 school in the region. On the other hand, I wonder how hard the school really tried to keep the program around knowing it's difficult to join a conference, I feel bad for the donors who donated for essentially a band-aid.

Football should sanctioned off from the other sports and then use Title IX from there. The only reason the conferences are the way they are is football TV payouts.
There’s no reason Alabama should jet its softball team to College Station every year just because it makes financial sense in football.
It’d be healthy for all universities’ finances. I’m sure more southern schools would have hockey programs under that format.

6+ SEC/ACC schools should start NCAA hockey teams and invite UAH.

That's actually a pretty great idea, which is why it'll never ever see the light of day.
Men's Soccer and Wrestling should exist at every school in the SEC. It's just nonsense that they don't.

If it was ever about equality, football never would have been included in scholarship counts.

From 7/12 (capparently their 2nd attempt to join a conference since their previous conference announced plans to dissolve).

With the success and and the talent of the UA Club Hockey team (DI ACHA team, virtually everyone from hockey hotbeds), I would LOVE if Alabama decided to join Arizona State and become a sunbelt school in the NCAA.
Hockey is such an awesome sport, and I think the fans in Alabama would support the heck out of it. Count me in for a pair of season tickets.
