There were also plenty of folks saying they weren't sure he'd ever be the same.

Still got drafted.

Who was saying that? I think it was pretty clear once he had the surgery, he was expected to make a full recovery.

No one really knew for sure.

His Doctor clearly stated surgery was successful and prognosis was full recovery. Consistent with that prognosis, on 9 March 2020, less than 4 months from that surgery, Tua was cleared for football workouts. We are about the same time frame from Myles injury, do we know anything about his health status

Remember Tua was hurt against State on 16 November 2019 and his surgery was 2 days later on 18 November and his Doctor gave the prognosis after the surgery of expected full recovery.

Brennan got hurt on 10 October 2020 vs. Mizzou, here we are 3 February coming up on 4 months and what do we know?

Until I hear Coach O saying the LSU Doctors have done an MRI and he is 100% clear for football, then I am left to believe he is at this time not 100% almost 4 months into his injury.

Whoever wins the LSU job, I'm 100% supportive of. If that's Brennan, great. If that's Finley, great.

The stats on these guys are all pretty close overall.

Finley had the most chance, people can say he kinda shite the bed, but he played AT Auburn, against Alabama, and AT A&M most of that game. That's a notch above what either Brennan and Johnson faced, so I don't know if you can hold it against him long-term, or if you say he saw where he needs to improve and is working on that.

Brennan was the appointed starter, and without injury is almost certainly the only guy to play much at all. It sucks bad for him, because I'd speculate he was playing himself into a draft spot, maybe 2nd rd at least. This injury situation has been rough for him, we don't know where he is, what his timeline is, no real indication that he's expected back 100%. I have the suspicion we're looking at a much bigger setback than anyone guessed at the time.

Johnson very nearly didn't get a shot to play. The coaches say it was close, but Finley's passes look shot out of a cannon, Johnson looks almost like he's lobbing in comparison. But that doesn't mean he doesn't have a good enough arm, it just isn't where the other 2 were. And the fact remains, despite people dismissing it, he seems to have an air of confidence about him the other 2 lack (or at least haven't shown yet), which has led to wins. Tight game late, behind late, it doesn't seem to bother him. He doesn't seem to collapse under the pressure of the moment, he's playing through it and making things happen.
That's something you'd like to coach, but I don't think you can, and if you can find a guy who can handle it, you stick with him. You normally don't find out until they play, they might not look great in practice.
