Brennan is the starter unless he moves on or cannot play.
Why do some LSU fans keep saying this? He has 3 starts in is career, Max has 2, Finley has 5. Among the 3, I think Max played the best. Furthermore, when Max played, Terrance Marshall, Arik Gilbert had already opted out and Racey McMath who was a Senior Bowl participant was hurt and out for the year.
LSU won 5 games and by far the best 2 wins LSU had were Florida and Ole Miss.

LSU as a whole played better after those players opted out. When players actually want to play, it's a world of difference.
Brennan will be the starter next year.

Well I hope Max is the starter and I am not sure Brennan will be the starter. He has never been a guy who can stay healthy since he has been here.

Brennan was statistically better than Johnson in basically every category.

True but the offensive line was also playing much better by the end of the year and there was a better run game.

Neither defense was very good though.

Brennan was throwing to Marshal and Gilbert. He played against Vandy, who was 0-10, which was his only win. Against MIZZOU, I think LSU was 0 for 12 on 3rd down.
Sorry, I disagree with your assessment 100%, you obviously disagree with mine.
I think Max should be the starter. Period from my perspective.

Better offensive line > Marshall or Gilbert.
Both of those guys couldn't hang on to the ball early in the season.

No run game and they struggled to block on obvious passing downs. Brennan was one of the most pressured quarterbacks in the entire country yet was still statistically better than Johnson in basically every passing category.
But who knows if Brennan will even be healthy.

To be fair, saying he has the weakest arm on the team needs a little context. Brennan and Finely both have top tier NFL arm strength. He’s not exactly Chad Pennington out there. His arm strength is comparable to many other successful QBs.
I think saying Brennan and Findley have “top tier nfl arm strength” is a little disingenuous. You’re telling me that you think these guys have arms like Rodgers. Mahomes, and Josh Allen?

Why are you such an insecure pussy?

They also rushed for 1 yard the entire game and the offensive line got its shite pushed in by a COVID-depleted Mizzou defensive line.

He threw for 1,112 yards, 8.5 per attempt, 11 TDs, and 3 picks in his only three starts.
Was he supposed to play DB as well? Defense gave up 44 to a garbage state team and 45 to a middle of the road Mizzou team.
Sometimes I wonder how much the LSU fan base actually watches the games, as opposed to just checking the scores the next morning.
Johnson is good and showed a ton of upside. The staff has said repeatedly they think he’s a special talent.
But acting like Brennan shite the bed is laughable.

Brennan>Johnson but both will struggle with our OL.

I am a huge Max fan. I see a big career for him in the purple and gold if things keep going the way they are. He’s got the moxie and is only a freshman. Big time potential. Max to Boutte is gonna be BIG

I watched the games. I don't care how much he threw for nor how much TJ threw for. I think Max is the best overall QB. His better pre snap, can move his feet in the pocket and reset himself and move his throwing point, he can pick up a first down with his feet.
I think Max is the best QB. It seems there is a segment of LSU fans that think Brennan is entitled to the starting job. If he wins the job great, but just saying he is the defacto starter, I don't agree with. In fact, I think Max should be the starter.

I imagine Brennan will start if healthy. That's a big if, though. I haven't heard anything recently about his rehab. You also have to figure that he might have lost some skill and athleticism during all of this time too.
I think Max currently would be next in line over Finley.
Then, we have Nuss coming in soon. He's probably a better prospect than Max and TJ, but I doubt he gets on the field unless things go badly during the first half of the season.
There is a good chance that either Max or TJ transfers or opts out after the Spring IMO, depending on where they end up in the depth chart. With Nuss and Walker coming in over the next two seasons, you have to figure that one of Max and TJ will start to see the smoke through the trees after Spring practice.

I mean it isn't like the guy he was backing up was some scrub
They put Brennan in 6 games that year, and kept wanting him to take over. He couldn't do it then; we all said (and hoped) it was because he was a freshman.
If he had come in and played like Johnson, he would have started some games that year.

Will both of these guys be in BR after spring ball? My guess is that it has all been decided. Johnson will be there and the transfer portal is going to get very busy.

I’m confused. Who do you think is the best QB?
