I say tear Coleman down to the foundation, rebuild that bitch with solid gold and rename the fricking thing Oats Coliseum.

Yep if Byrne can get a new basketball arena built then I’ll be all in on him. Great instincts in hiring Oats though without a doubt.

I think we all see if we can keep the NBA & other big name schools from getting Oats there's no telling the accomplishments Bama basketball can have in the next 10yrs.

It’s good to see we’re managing expectations well.

Nope. No current people get named facilities.

It is the Wendell Hudson Arena - the HUD and C.M. Newton Court.

The Wimp Sanderson parking deck is where you can go after the game in case you need to slap a ...

Truly a damn shame that we are having this kind of season with this exciting a team and Coleman isn't fully open. The crowds this season would be like we haven't seen in a long time.

We've got to get this man new facilities to lock him down. I truly think we can make this his destination job if we commit to it. And I think if he stays here we are going to be a heck of a basketball program.

Syracuse doesn't worry me. I bet Jim Belein gets that call first even if he's around 70. The job doesn't offer more money than Bama plus it's in New York State, Oats strikes me as someone who is mindful of how taxes hit the bottomline.

NBA worries more than anything b/c Oats run an NBA system. UK is locked in with Cal (lifetime contract, mind-baffling I know). Duke will has Wojo at Marquette and that assistant from Chicago (J. Sch something). UNC has Stanford coach and an instate guy to go after. IU doesn't worry me b/c they won't pay top dollar like UK would. Oats wouldn't set foot in Cali (see NY). If FSU can have a great bball program, Bama can too.

Only one that could be a threat is Michigan but Howard isn't going anywhere, plus that state might in trouble long-term.

Bryne is one of the few ADs that know what to look for in a coach. He didn't even need a search firm when it came to Oats.

Other ADs would just chase the biggest name.

Quote me on this....if there isn’t a plan to build a new arena, and that plan isn’t started, Oats is gone. He can do better than that dump.

As long as Saban is here, I think Oats stays.

Maybe it's just my crimson shades on, but Oats doesn't strike me as the kind of guy looking to move much. I think the NBA is about the only place he would leave for a job.

Don’t forget he also hired Bohannon. Bo took over the baseball program when it was the absolute worst in the SEC. Fast forward 2 years and Bo has Bama at 16-1 and ranked before Covid shut the season down.

The FOGs better wake up and give Byrne whatever he wants to stay long term and whatever he needs to lock Oats up for the foreseeable future. BDS is a palace, it doesn’t need another coat of gold leaf. Coleman is a dump and an airplane hanger. Spend some cash, sell some bonds while interest rates are still low, do an arena in conjunction with the city, just do something to get a new state of the art basketball facility. It’s a damn shame and I hate to say it but Auburn has a much nicer arena than Bama does.
