I really think you'll be happy with it. You get the 2000? $479 plus $50 or so for extended warranty is a steal IMO. Use ethanol free gas and stabilizer for long periods of inactivity and I think you'll satisfied with your purchase...

Do the HF ones have a fuel shut off? I don't remember. If they do use it and run it out of fuel anytime it is going to sit unused for a day or more. If it doesn't have a shutoff install one if it is possible.
I think the predator is actually built by Honda isn't it? I don't think Honda builds actual generators only the engine that turns them...the generator itself is probably made by generac or someone...but I could be bad wrong.

You can drain tank and carb by turning switch to run and opening a screw valve on bottom of carb if you want. I just use ethanol free gas and stabilizer in mine to not hafta worry about having the unit ready to go if I need it. I will drain if not used in last 6months but having to run to a store to get fresh gas can be a hassle if power is out in local area and c-stores/filling stations are without power too.
Never any prob. with mine, starts everytime if battery is ok. so imma take my chances...
Not a Honda but for the money and the reliability I'm good with the Predator brand.

Thanks. Yes that is the one I ordered. Good advice on the gas. I will try to run it out when I can. I always do this with my small outboards and they crank first or second pull for years.

For less than $500 if it lasts 5 years you are ahead of the game! I have known people who have them and swear by 'em. I have a couple of Hondas and to be honest other than the extra $600 I don't think there is any difference in them...I know they won't outlast 2 of the HF ones and if they do they won't do it by much....
