Different time, different coach.

Lsu wanted him too. Y’all didn’t back off for a second. Why do you think he was threatened so many times for leaving the state?

No it’s not, quit with this fricking excuse... he started to drop in the summer
Actually it started in the spring.

Last January and February he was basically A&M lock. Apparently he was always hanging out in college station and always posting A&M stuff on social.

Then last spring, he dropped in the ratings and you barely heard anything about him until recently.

Whatever happened, A&M appears to have backed away in a hurry. I've seen some on their posters reference grades and possibly other off the field reasons. One guy, after he committed, said good luck getting him into school.

They've also said that Texas kids have a harder time getting into the public universities for some reason.

Whatever the reason, it surely wasn't "he played receiver as a senior".

Like I said earlier, there are certain requirements to get in to Texas public universities that aren't requirements to get into other out of state schools, specifically a certain score on the TAKS. (a test required in Texas high schools usually taken your sophomore year)

You can still graduate with a low or failing TAKS score, but you can't be admitted into a Texas public university.

He switched to WR his senior year. Had 18 TDs. That's why he dropped to a 4*, not a 3.

He’s always played both ways and I don’t think that changed this year. Klein Oak may have played him a little less on defense this year

Regardless that’s not why he dropped in the rankings. It was a combo of off field stuff and teams seeing him more a safety instead of corner

I thought/still think he’s a really good receiver prospect. He has ball skills you can’t teach which is why he will likely be a playmaker at safety if he ends up there. Some of his receiver film is really good though.

So it's clear I'm showing my age. I still remember it as the TAAS (thank you for the correction).
