How did 247 drop this kid from a 5 star to a 3 star? Did he have a bad year, turn out to be slower than thought, or was it off field issues (grades/character/general thuggary)???

He looked pretty good today, so I am assuming something is up.

Is this where you act like the football players at A&M are held to the same admissions standards as the non football players?

There are certain requirements to get into Texas public schools that are not waiverable for athletes. These same requirements are not in public schools in states that border Texas.

Example: Dez Bryant.

Okay. We get it. but it doesn't hurt to just say, "Good pickup! I hope it works out for you!"

You don't even have to mean it, if you don't want to.
When you do this it just makes you look bad. Let it go and drive on.

People are saying he has or had problems?
Seems like a really nice kid.

Can anyone elaborate?
I get all the Texas schools backed off but why

He may not have the requirements to be accepted to a Texas public school.

Examples of players this applied to include Craig Loston (LSU) and Dez Bryant (Oklahoma State).

I think it was just attitude/immaturity issues (same reason why he played at 3 schools in 3 years). There were also allusions to some questionable people surrounding him. That plus the fact everyone started to view him as a safety made his stock drop and schools back off.

I think he can be really good at safety (or receiver but doesn’t seem like he’s interested in playing there)

grades. He would have trouble getting credits with texas schools for whatever reason, combined with the general question of what his position is

He switched to WR his senior year. Had 18 TDs. That's why he dropped to a 4*, not a 3.
