Looking at the top 53 of the RPI and you find all SEC baseball programs this season. You then look at total Q1 wins and SOS and it is easy to see why. Here is how the teams stack up.

2. Arkansas 14-8
3. Georgia 12-6
4. Miss State 12-7
5. aTm 12-8-1

7. Tennessee 11-9
8. Ole Miss 10-10
9. South Carolina 8-13
10. Missouri 7-9-1
11. Florida 7-10
12. Auburn 7-10
13. Kentucky 4-18
14. Alabama 3-11

SEC SOS
2. Vandy
4. Tennessee
5. LSU
7. Auburn
8. Arkansas
9. Kentucky

13. aTm
18. UGA

Think that is an uphill battle for Tenn IMO.

SEC probably only gets 5 hosts. Vandy and UGA from the East and some mix of three teams from the West is the way it looks to shake out.

With our RPI as good as it is it wouldn’t shock me, assuming we finish sec play strong that is

Also what’s the most top 16 seeds the SEC has ever had in a year?

Top 16 seeding just started last season, so no historical reference for your question.

Tennessee has a good RPI, but there are other SEC teams with strong RPI and strong league record. I would imagine like most years, a 17-13 SEC record is around where teams will need to be in order to be in regional host conversations. 16-14 might get a team there.

This could be a year where there are 6-7 deserving host teams from the league, but there won’t be more than 5 league hosts. Probably 2-3 top 8 seeds that can host Supers.

This. They’re not going to give regional host spots based purely on merit.

Tennessee likely ends up a very tough 2 seed for someone to deal with. Wouldn’t be surprised at all to see them playing in a Super
