Reminds me of a few years back, a nearby JuCo had a 7-foot basketball player with, according to the coach, "a huge upside." He played some in December, then was gone at the start of the second semester in January. I asked the coach why. He said they found out the kid could not read or write...at all! Could just print his name. He came from North Carolina. Don't know what happened to him after that. The brightest tutor wasn't gonna keep him eligible.

I member back I think it was Dexter Manley who n 2002, he was selected as one of the 70 Greatest Redskins of All Time and is a member of the Washington Redskins Ring of Fame. I think he was the one saying he could not read and write when he was in college. I am pretty sure it was him.
