perhaps OM didn't learn from UNC and just provide hookers for all students, not just the recruited athletes.

Glad ya’ll think UNC is such a badass in its dealings with the NCAA.
If you only knew the truth about how, initially (before hiring a new AD) UNC threw itself on the sword and did its own investigation which allowed the matter to drag on for 7 years. UNC was on de facto probation during this period since recruits were routinely told UNC was one step away from the death penalty.
By the end of the process, UNC did finally tell the NCAA to pound sand - and it worked!
If you only knew the truth about how, initially (before hiring a new AD) UNC threw itself on the sword and did its own investigation which allowed the matter to drag on for 7 years. UNC was on de facto probation during this period since recruits were routinely told UNC was one step away from the death penalty.
By the end of the process, UNC did finally tell the NCAA to pound sand - and it worked!

how the NCAA (with our boy Sankey heading the particular committee) let North Carolina skate while just handing out diplomas was shameful. So much for those clowns being some "Public Ivy."

Personally I think the NCAA would go more lenient on Ole Miss if they would just make a public apology for the UNC sham classes, but they won't do it. It's all on their shoulders now.....

UNC's recruiting was badly hurt during the "investigation." Roy did not haul in the very top talent in the same that he did prior to the investigation. He's had to win National Championships using 3* while UK, Dook, KU et al got the crème of the talent.
Only in last year's class - post scandal- was UNC able to recruit top talent (Little, White).

Neverminding that Williams won every one of his national championships as a head MBB coach while having his players use the sham classes in order to stay eligible and win them. This goes back to Dean Smith.
And the 2018 class was ranked 14th, with 2 5* and 1 4*. The '17 class was 19th (was a large size class), the '16 class was 14th with 1 5* and 2 4*...
The '15 class was the only "bad" class in recent years, being ranked 70th. But the '14 class was 10th, the '13 class 15th, the '12 was 5th. The sham classes were first exposed in 2011.
The classes weren't really that different from each other during the investigation, with the lone exception of the 2015 cycle. Oh poor you.....

AFAM offered an easy class. Students did the work but most everyone got As and Bs. Soon, the athletes and frat houses and sororities figured this out and started taking class? No evidence the athletic department set this class up for the athletes - you're just pulling that out your arse. It's not like UGA, which set a class up for it basketball players and the tests asked how many points is a three point play?
So, are you saying your school didn't offer an easy class or two to the student population? Of course, even Harvard has easy classes.

For all these years UNC kept saying they had the high ground when they did not. Soon as it came out it went all the way back to Dean Smith they pulled a USC and drug it out. Wooden did it at UCLA with money and Dean Smith did it at UNC with grades. Both got to keep their reputations intact and the banners in the rafters.
Big difference between telling them they might get punished and the NCAA dropping the hammer. After the first or second year do you think the recruits believed it as they were already not getting the hammer?

Now who's pulling shite out of their arse?? Did you even read the Wainstein report?? Most of not all of the student-athletes that took the sham classes were steered to them by academic advisors employed within UNC's Academic Support Program for Student-Athletes, and emails and memos were compiled that showed those advisors were instructed by representatives within the UNC Athletic Department. Nine (9) of those advisors were either fired or reprimanded by UNC.
Further, advisors with the Office of Academic Advising for all undergraduate students at UNC were found to have advised non-student-athletes to those sham classes: They too, were found to have been instructed by representatives of the UNC Athletic Department. They were NOT found to have been instructed by members of the UNC faculty & staff who oversee the various academic curriculum on that side of UNC.
Based upon evidence compiled in Wainstein's report, the UNC faculty/staff did not even realize that these sham AFAM classes even existed, and protested and filed reports and petitions of their own to the UNC President or Chancellor denouncing the fake classes.
This entire thing was thought up, created, orchestrated, and managed by representatives of the UNC Athletic Department. The AFAM Chair Dr. Julius Nyang'oro and his department manager, Deborah Crowder constantly and entirely concerted with members of the UNC AD in administering the sham classes, and hardly ever consulted with regular UNC faculty/staff.
And yet former CFB head coaches Bunting, Davis, Senior Associate Director of Athletics John Blanchard and Academic Support Proram for Student Athletes Director Robert Mercer, former MBB head coach Dean Smith, Guthridge, Doherty, Burgess McSwain, current MBB head coach Williams,MBB counselor Wayne Walden (Williams right-hand man), WBB head coach Hatchell, and former advisor Boxhill ALL are on record that they knew all along about the fake, sham classes since the very beginning:

You want time to fade away the cheat-job, so you can spin it into being some perfectly fine and acceptable anomaly, but it was a systematic cheat conducted by the UNC Ath. Dept. to keep players eligible to play for national championships.
As for the CFB program, it's mitigated by the fact that UNC's FB program was steaming shite for most of the years they cheated. But the MBB and WBB programs were built up into nationally relevant programs on the back of this cheat system: UNC would most likely not be the nationally recognized power it is today if not for that sham class.....

Getting a UNC college degree is hard. For the average student who pays their own tuition, or has their parents pay, and who has to work to afford tuition, rent, meals, books/supplies, gas to drive to classes, etc. etc. In many cases, they have families to support while they attend classes.
It's a hard existence. Often they can get academic scholarships or grants, but need to maintain GPAs to keep it. Often it is very tough to manage for regular, non-athletic students.
That's why it would be a boon for MANY of those students to be able to fit in a class that requires zero class time, zero books or supplies, hardly any study or actual work time, and they get an easy "A" grade, to help bolster their GPA. Of course there are a TON of regular students that would snap a class like that up, to help with their other courses. Especially since it doesn't add any real load onto what they are already doing to work towards their degrees.
So if MY SCHOOL actually "offered" a sham class like this, then yes the word would get out and tons of regular students would be signing up for it. AND THAT IS MY POINT. The University of North Carolina - your school - DID NOT "offer" this class to it's regular non-athletic students. The UNC Athletic Department did, and they offered it to a strictly managed number of regular students, so that they wouldn't quickly fill up the classroom seat quota every year, for 18 years, in order to "reserve" seats for

There are some ~600 student-athletes at UNC every year, but a student body of ~18,000 students every year. And that sham class was always 50-50, without fail, every year?? That was strictly managed and massaged, and it sure wasn't done by the rank and file UNC faculty & staff at UNC. They didn't even know about the classes. It was done by the UNC Athletic Department, and for a reason.
The reason was, they cheated their damn asses off.....
