The #NeverLukers on this board will spin this as bad. This is a good thing. At least he’s trying to get advice from someone on top of the college football word. Unlike Freeze who had it all figured out and didn’t need help.

Not even remotely surprising that he talks to Cutcliffe, and Dabo is at worst like the third best coach in college football currently. The man is trying at least

I agree Freeze is the best coach we’ve had since Vaught. I wish we could have kept him, but everything with the NCAA was handled so poorly. They wanted Freeze’s head and weren’t going to stop until they got it. Our administration facilitated by being so helpful to the NCAA. We know better now but it’s too late.

publicly challenging the NCAA says that he didn't have it figured out.
but yes....2nd best coach we've ever had. Just had absolutely no clue as to how to run a program. Hell....his mentor was Coach O who also had no idea as to how to run a program.

Freeze tweeted bible verses, challenged the NCAA, and scheduled hand jobs off the same university issued cell phone. Not sure he had it all figured out.

Yeah you’re right. Our fan base knows better now is what I should have said.. hopefully the current administration won’t have to fight the NCAA ever again. Or else we’re screwed again

Freeze was fired for telling the ncaa investigators that our boosters were "out of control".
I'm sure the administration knew about Freeze's phone calls and didn't care one way or the other.
But when the NCAA wouldn't go away, no thanks to him. It became convenient to let him go for something they had been allowing all along.
The probably thought it would help in the long run with the investigation, but the 2 year bowl ban and the loss of 16 million dollars was our punishment from the sec for looking like we were going to become a player in the SEC.
Understand this, everyone. As long as Ole Miss is in the SEC we will not be allowed to be a premier football program. Anytime the small schools start acting as if they have it figured out, the powers that be will send the NCAA out to punish that school for over stepping their bounds.
The 8 million a year is basically hush money. You take it and do as you are expected and all is good in the SEC.
You start winning too much and looking like a major player and wham. In walks the NCAA.
Freeze will end up at Bama before it is all said and done. Alabama is not going to go through the same BS they did before and not have the best coach available.
Ole Miss can only hope to occasionally upset the premier programs but never be considered a top tier program in the SEC. That's where they were headed with Freeze and that's where they would have ended up. Problem was, Freeze was coaching at Ole Miss, not Alabama.
He will be in the near future though.

I agree he will be at bama. He would be this year if the sec didn’t tell saban to give it more time before you hire him.
