He had to call plays with one arm tied behind his back all year. Not his fault.

I felt like we should have kept running a bit more to keep them honest, but I feel like with Tua at the helm it seemed to open up the playbook and it reminded me more of our O under Joey Freshwater.
Like my mom said earlier in the game to me, we gotta have some of those sideline passes and shorter passes to open up the run game. Jalen was struggling with that, while running quite well. But Tua allowed Daboll to open up the playbook and the deep threat was something UGA had to look out for on every snap.

I've struggled to form a definitive opinion on him based off some of our offensive miscues. You just don't know what the guy WANTS to call versus what he MUST call with our roster and in-game play. I don't see a pro guy coming from the Patriots(who sling it all over creation) wanting to be a "3yd and a cloud of dust" play caller. I won't use the anointing oil but I do expect to see a much more aggressive offense next year.

Ok but in all fairness he did just overcome a 13 pt defecit with a QB he hasn't playcalled for all year, against one of the best defenses in cfb, in one half of football.
I think it's safe to say that Brian and Tua can do big things next year if he sticks around

Not enough bubble screens, lol.
But in all seriousness, i feel like we all owe Daboll an apology. I think we will see our Offense put up video game numbers next season, now that the entire playbook has been opened up and considering who we have returning.

You got to be kidding. Its hard to be a good OC if the quarterback is so limited. Even Saban said it after the game, its hard to run the ball if you don't have any passing game. We are just so limited in what we can call when Hurts is playing. They open up the play book when Tua plays. Glad Calvin Ridley finally got to play with a QB that could throw past the line of scrimmage. Its been 2 years since Coker graduated.

It is partly his fault when he doesn't gameplan around what he has. Jalen isn't a great touch passer and was struggling heavily last night so why do you continue giving him over-the-shoulder fade routes with no options over the middle or quick routes under ten yards. His play-calling really didn't change much at all last night. Only the QBs. That's not gameplanning around what you have.
We won the game and since Tua is going to be here another 2 years, I am okay with keeping Daboll. But it was his play-calling that helped dig us into a hole last night. He was not the hero last night, far from it. That was Tua.
