Maybe he was the one who negotiated getting Mac's BBQ sauce sold in the Swamp. I'm guessing it will be taken off the shelves now.

I think it's funny that Florida fired their shark fricking coach. But I understand why they did it. And why Shark Sexer agreed to the reduced buyout. He seems to have doubled down on the thug culture created by Meyer. Except, he isn't good like Meyer. It's a bad look when you have like 37 key players all being prosecuted for fraud.

And then faking death threats against University Students? That's downright criminal if you ask me.

He is toast. Doubt he gets another head coaching gig any time soon. He sucks. He got blown out by Bielema.

I'm fairly certain at some point he got at least one. His firing has nothing to do with that.

If McElwain had never mentioned death threats on Monday, there’s a good chance he not only remains employed by Florida this week but through the end of the season. His decision to make that claim and compound the problem by failing to provide any proof to his bosses with the Gators suddenly opened the door to a potential for-cause firing as McElwain appears to have potentially violated the standards clause in his contract.

His buyout is weird. Either it's that or something else.

Mac made big mistakes not reporting any death threats to UF and later mentioning them to the media. He potentially put UF in a position of liability. He also violated the standards of conduct terms of his contract. This article explains it pretty well.

Report: Jim McElwain may get just $4 million, not full buyout

Florida may get one heck of a deal on Jim McElwain’s buyout. Pretty cool, right?

It also explains Mac's & Sexton's lack of leverage. It's worth the click & read.

Sidenote: Mac may only pocket $1M. $3M of the $4M is owed to CSU.

Doesn't Sexton have some sort of duty to McElwain? Is he a lawyer?

The whole "Article" you linked was about Sexton not representing his client effectively because he is representing his other clients best interests instead. This stinks, if true.

I think what Jimmy meant to say was "After seeing what my client did, I don't have a chance to get that buyout".

It's obvious Mac did something that is making Sexton tell Mac to accept what UF is giving you and move on.

I think it goes beyond the death threats. Mac may have known more about the credit card issues than is being discussed. The so called death threats were made publicly and that gave the Univ the final bullet to hey needed to fire him.

I think there was something else that Jim did, that has not been disclosed. In addition to that, he quit on the team and wanted out. A couple of weeks ago, there was a rumor that he was putting feelers out there for jobs because he wanted out. It was a mutual divorce.
