Then why did Coach O go out of his way to get him to commit

So your point is you have a problem with Coach O trying to convince Louisiana players to stay in state? You do understand recruiting is part of his job, right?

I don't understand anyone having an issue with the coaching staff trying to lock down their state. However, I also don't understand the way some LSU fans act towards players that choose to leave the state. There is lunacy on both sides of the whole "stay in the boot" debate.

The issue at hand is actually staying in Louisiana might not provide the youth in Louisiana the greatest chance at success.
Most college players do not play in the NFL. Does Coach O really care about what happens to these kids that do not play for LSU once he offers them a scholarship.
A star will be a star anywhere but can LSU provide the educational and network opportunities of a university like UCLA, UT or Michigan

THis is first time I've ever heard of comparing a SEC HC to Castro. Pretty original though, so thumbs up.

The MAJORITY of LSU fans respect the decision of the high school kids, that is until the kid blatantly tries to hurt LSU doing their recruitment.

There was NO hatred towards Chris Allen because of the way he handled the process throughout his recruitment. Their is NO hatred towards Justin Rogers this year for choosing TCU. It's always about how the player handles the recruiting process determined whether there is disdain or disappointment towards the player leaving the state.

I wouldn't say always. It is often times about how the LSU media covering recruiting positions the recruitment to its subscribers/readers and how those people view the recruitment. You always here these "he gave our staff a private commitment" or "he's told our staff he's in so we didn't recruit anyone else". Often that's just fan created rumors or those at Rivals, 24/7, etc trying to cover their tracks for why they were wrong. They protect themselves from scorn and have it shifted to the kid. Just admit you didn't know the inside details as well as you thought and the kid went elsewhere.

Also, you often have coaches who feed those covering recruiting certain info so that they'll report on it thus creating in-state pressure on a kid based on the belief that he's already committed (happens in MS and LA a lot).

We don't have to leave. Now if I lived in Alabama I would want to get out of there as much as possible.
