From The Battle Plan:
"As part of our continuing effort to provide a comfortable venue for our fans, this week we have installed nine watering stations at Bryant-Denny Stadium; five on the mezzanine level and four in the upper deck. These watering stations are 150-gallon tanks of cold filtered water that fans can use for relief if they need some hydration.
Our 11 a.m. game with FAU saw almost unbearable heat and humidity conditions that needed to be addressed. While we don't anticipate those extreme conditions this week, we hope our fans will take advantage of those stations to stay hydrated. Fans can bring in clear, empty water bottles to fill up at the various water stations and small cups will be provided next to the canister. "

this is good, until you see parents letting brats waste the heck out of it.

150 X 9 = 1450 9? Only 9? Common how fast do you think 100,000 people can suck 1450 gallons dry? If every person drank 12 oz that would be 9000+ gal. And who can survive on 12oz? If everyone wants 24oz that's 18000+ gal.
I think the Battle Plan has run into "A Bridge to Far"!
I have an idea. Have the consession lower the price of water to $2.50 and have some lines for water sales only. That would hurry things up a lot and shorten the lines for food sales. They may make less per item but they'd probably triple sales of water.

Was the FAU game the first oppressively hot game in BDS?

I can't remember the year, it was either 96 or 97.Arkansas game. Was my first Bama game and heat index was around 107 in direct sunlight. Unbearable for a 10/11 yr old.
