How do you have the No. 1 recruiting class 5-6 years in a row and still play poorly one day and great the next?

ANSWER: Coaching.

What I see here is the seniors and Juniors getting the most playing time reguardless of performance.

What is the definition of INSANITY? Answer: Doing the same thing over and over again expecting a different result.

How many times have we seen: run the ball run the ball run the ball first down run the ball run the ball first down run the ball run the ball first down run the ball run the ball first down pass the ball pass the ball pass the ball punt?:banghead:

What is more insane? Finding something that works then STOP DOING IT!!!

(STUPIDITY can be substituted freely for Insanity in the above.)

It's almost like Kiffin has a bet on the game and is trying to shave points.

If the S&J's aren't performing then let the F&So play. If they aren't performing then TOSS THEM UNDER THE BUS! That's what would happen to them in the NFL. :redx:

SACK KIFFIN AND GRIFFITH. Boy is lousy kicker.
Ahhh the words of the young. I believe it was the 68-69 seasons. BAMA went 6-5 both seasons. Everyone said the  Bear  was old. Past his prime. Probably should retire. Then he put in the Wishbone and won 101 games in 10 years.

He who does not learn from history is doomed to repeat it.
NUTS! Neither Coker :yack: or Baterman :yack: will ever take a snap in the NFL. Neither comes close to being drafted in the NFL. Obviously there is a reason both have been bench warmers up to now,

Every long ball thrown this season has either been to long to short or intercepted. We have no deep threat.

And what about that idiot that fumbled 3 kickoff returns? That dummy actually picked up the ball in the end zone and was going to try and run it out and had to be stopped. He was obviously more concerned about how the NFL scouts saw his performance than doing the smart thing and just jump on the ball. :wtf:
We all talk about the QB and the RB and the WR and the secondary and LB and we really miss the most important part of any team. Namely the LINE. If the Oline can't protect the QB or open holes for the RB you can't win. If the Dline can't get to the QB the passing yards pile up. If it can't close those holes it will be a LOOOOOOONG night.

Everything pivots on the lines. We don't need a great secondary if the QB is sacked. LB's are out of a job if the RB's can't penetrate the line.

Everything pivots on the line. Give me a quick Dline and a rock solid Oline and I'll show you a NC.

Well it wasn't come from behind because it was a defensive play. It will stand FOREVER as the greatest play that preserved a NC for BAMA. I speak of the goal line stand. Most of you are way to young to have even heard of it. 1979 Sugar Bowl. BAMA 14 Penn State 7. Penn State has ball first and goal on the TWO yard line. Everyone knew that if the game ended in a tie Penn State would be the NC as they were the favored. Needless to say they did not make it.

re: Adam Griffith

Griffith was a great kicker in HS. He is now only a fair kicker in college. Remember how Shelly missed those FGs in the LSWho game. If you look back I believe he did not miss another FG that season or the next. The only possible reason is that coach put him out on the field and made him kick about 1K balls until he got it right.

Griffith needs to do the same. Just kick FGs until he thinks his leg will fall off. He could be a great kicker but he is not there yet. Like they say, "practice makes perfect".
The one and only reason alcohol was invented.....ugly broads need to get laid too. :drunkards:
OK I caught it. Now what in the hell do I do with it? :rotflmao: :bwahaha:

Idiot coaches that practice prevent defenses and after moving the ball all day long go 3 and out trying to run out the clock which shifts the momentum to the other team.

Year 1984. Game BC. Bama led 31-3 in the middle of the 3rdQ. Bama decided to rest on its laurels and guess what? Bama lost 31-38. Look what happened last night. Auburn had the ball deep in its own territory and decided to run 3 up the middle to make Ol' Miss use up its time outs. So look what happened. Except for the receiver breaking his leg and dropping the ball before he crossed the goal line AUBURN WOULDA LOST. Should of lost.

All because these coaches wanna fix something that AIN'T BROKEN! Look at the other teams that have lost this season because of the same stupid thinking. So afraid of making a mistake they FORGET TO WIN!:dope:

If a team has the momentum then it needs to use that momentum to win the game. It's one thing if it's 4 minutes to go and you lead by 40 no problem. But when you lead by less than a touchdown and you intentionally give the ball back THAT is a LOSING STRATEGY. :banghead:

And that is my rant for the day.

U'd rather go to a "lesser bowl" than have the chance to play for the NC??? :yack: At first I thought U must be the really dumb one in the family. But then it occurred to me that, after all, she DID marry U! :dope:
How dare you stand up in public and tell the world that you are pissed off at the fans. As someone that was there to watch the Bear win 100+ games in 10 years I can say that he would have NEVER insulted the fans of Bama in such a way. You sir are probably as good or even better as a coach than the Bear was. But the Bear had CLASS.

When Bama won a game he would give all the credit to the players. When Bama lost HE TOOK ALL THE BLAME! Saying things such as: "I didn't prepare them as well as I should have."

He never ever criticized the fans. That's why he was loved by all. But we knew when the team was playing as well as they could or not.

Look at the A&M game compared to the Ol' Miss and Ark games. Where were the penalties? Where were the dropped passes? Where were the quarter back sacks? Common! The offense played like 4 & 5 star players against A&M. Like a Jr. High team in the previous 2 games. Even you were yelling when C Jones made that bone head :banghead: play on the punt return. I couldn't believe what I was seeing.

Coach I think maybe you are under a large misconception. Namely: We are not there because you are there, you are there because we are there. Let me explain:

Who do you think built Bryant-Denny Stadium? We the fans built that stadium. ALL of the money came out of our pockets. Where do you think your salary and that of your coaches comes from? We the fans. Who do you think pays for the ALL the scholarships for the team? We do, the fans. All of your equipment came out of our pockets. Who pays hundreds and even thousands of dollars for the tickets. We burn 10's of thousands gallons of gas going to from the games. For crying out loud we pay $4.50 for a cotton pick'en bottle of water. Who do you think buys all the hats, t-shirts, flags, pompoms, jackets, jerseys, and countless other junk? Who do you think buys the products advertised on TV so the University gets those lucrative TV contracts. We the fans that's who.

Who do you think braves rain, snow, sleet, tornadoes, and 105 temperatures (at $4.50 for a bottle of water) just to celebrate when OUR team wins. The team REPRESENTS THE UNIVERSITY. It's not the other way around.

Do you really think that if the stands were empty every Saturday that there would even be a team? Do you even think there would be a stadium to play in?
So when I pay hundreds of dollars to cheer the Tide on and am faced with watching a game where the players appear to be so enamored with their press clippings or day dreaming about their lucrative NFL contracts to do their best on the field I'M GONNA EXPRESS MY DISPLEASURE!

So why is it that you expect us to cheer when the team does good but sit in pained silence when they are flopping around on the field like a fish out of water?

So if this pisses you off again then I guess I'll just have to live with that. I am, though, sure of one thing. There were probably many times when Coach Bryant got pissed off over the years. But he never said so.
:beatdeadhorse:
What do you mean "early"?
quote:

why the frick are y'all in here melting about Saban retiring? One close loss to a good team and y'all are on full tilt.

Son you have that right. I remember back in the early 70's the Bear had two 6-5 seasons. Everyone talked about how old he was. Probably should retire. Then he put in the Wishbone. Can any of you young punks tell me what happened then? :rotflmao:

Stats not kept by MSNBC. Must be REALLY REALLY BAD!

Thee only way Ol' Miss can win this game is if the Tide rolls (not "on") but over and plays dead.
