Signs new contract extension..
Tanks season..
Forces A&M to buy him out for $90 million..
Maybe he takes a year off..
Accepts West Virginia HC position for $1 million per year (good news Ags, you are getting a discount)
End result. Money is the same, and he gets to coach at a school he loves with a lot less stress on the job.
Even if this isn’t his plan.. what’s the downside? And it isn’t just Jimbo.. these coaching contracts are stupid across the board.
Idk the answer because the “good” coaches will demand or threaten to leave if you don’t give it to them.. but it’s honestly ridiculous.

Not worried about Jimbo.. which is why I said it isn’t just his contract. The point is.. it seems all of these contracts are ridiculous.

Normally I would agree but Gay&M is an endless source of comedy and tragedy at the same time. Might as well take the shots now, because the opportunity never goes away.

Brian Kelly’s contract would be relevant to this conversation however. Do you like giving coaches 10 year contracts? I do not. I’m sure Texas will fall into that hellacious trap one day as well.. but it isn’t my money, so I guess it doesn’t really matter.
