My God what a bunch of crybabies. Your WR'S pushed off the entire game and we couldn't get an offensive PI call for anything. Saban even walked on the field and complained..nothing. So much for favoritism.

That's not targeting. He led with his shoulder. Football moves so fast it's impossible for players' helmets not to touch.

Initial contact is shoulder to shoulder, there's no launching, and the initial contact with the helmets is the numbers on Branch's hitting the logo on Jefferson's so no leading with the crown. If Jefferson hadn't had the ball in his hands maybe it's targeting, but since he wasn't defenseless it isn't.

He wasn't a defenseless runner, so I don't see the big deal.
But these days, I'm worried about a targeting call anytime a helmet touches a player, so I was worried it might get called during the play.
Is it really targeting? No. Doesn't launch or hit with the crown of the helmet, just trying to knock the guy out of bounds.
The crazy thing here is - what else could the guy do? If he lowers his head more, then it would be targeting, but that would be the only way he can get lower etc. A little incidental helmet to helmet can't be targeting every time.
