If we want to win it all, we have to beat Alabama, ideally we do it in the SEC Championship.

Everyone assumes that we would get a “mulligan” for the playoffs, but there is no guarantee of that...

It’s possible that the Buckeys stumble & that the B1G beats itself up into a bunch of 2 loss teams, but unlikely

I know, we still have GT & CHSO; but that is for Kirby and the players to worry about.

To be the best, we’ll have to beat the best - go Dawgs!

Ohio State is looking pretty strong. Michigan State and Michigan on deck they could get tripped up. Oregon could also get beat so Cincy is a shoe in then who knows. Notre Dame could sneak in if the right things happen

Ohio state is the only team that makes me nervous rn. Don’t seem to ever pick up significant injuries, always seem to get the good calls. The intangibles

We beat Bama in the SECCG that knocks them out of the CFP since they already have one loss, correct? But if we lose to them, we are still in the hunt correct? (If we end the season undefeated)

yes, unless we get a bunch of 2 loss conference champs or maybe even a 1 loss Wake?

PROBABLY, but not guaranteed...

we'd be hard pressed to jump a 1 loss Oregon or any other 1 loss conference champ (OK, OK lite, any B1G champ & MAYBE an undefeated Cincy or 1 loss Notre Dame...)

Theoretically, yes. Stranger things have happened, though.

Also, theoretically yes. But this is less certain as it kinda depends on what other teams look like behind us and how bad a loss we’re talking about.

I think we will beat Alabama, but if we did come up short in Atlanta, I don't think there's anyway the committee could keep us out of playoff

We're the last undefeated P5 team, and the loss would be the "best" loss of any of the the top 1-loss teams. By far.

Also, how could you have OH state in playoff with a loss to Oregon who is also in playoff, then at the same time say that Georgia can't be in playoff because their loss was to Alabama who is in playoff? Wouldn't fly

We're in this thing no matter what, kidos. I guess we should be pulling for Bama to finish reg season undefeated though just to strengthen our case

I think the committee has already assured UGA that we'll make it into the playoff even with a SECCG loss thanks to them placing Bama at 2 despite an unranked loss. Their reasoning is that Bama is the second best team, regardless of record. I don't see how UGA wouldn't get that same benefit of the doubt without completely diminishing the committee's relevance.

As a matter off act that is very likely. I think OSU still has Michigan State and Michigan left.
Penn State is left for a few games, too.

The BIG 10 back loads their schedule heavily. Guessing, they think they can have 3-4 teams with great records early and maybe 1-2 survive the late season head to heads.

Sit back and watch Penn State, Michigan, Michigan State and OSU beat each other up over the next 2-3 weeks.

It would have to be a bunch because they will do their best to put Cincinnati and Notre Dame in with that scenario.
Either Oklahoma State or Oklahoma will have only one loss, too, probably.

Georgia v Cincy would be a nice revenge game for us. We could break them so bad.

Kind of tough to get revenge for a win. Technically, the only way you could do it would be by a "frick you! You should have won that last game!" loss.

Like I said yesterday, a one loss, SEC runner-up UGA WILL NOT be left out of the playoff. Period.

just alabama, IMO. OSU doesn't really concern me, actually nobody in america concerns me except alabama. They are the only team that can really challenge us and potentially beat us. if we beat them you might as well just give us the natty right there in the benz in december.

I certainly hope you are correct. Even though they have close calls with Penn State and Nebraska they can light the scoreboard up. Having said that I would not be surprised if they lose to either Mich St or Mich

Alabama though. WB, RB, OL, Def I guess they have the "best we have played" at about every spot. Hooker missed some receivers that Young will hit.

Many of the pundits claimed Cincinnati was great because they played us so close. A 31-3 whoopin' is what they need.

Beating Bama in the SECCG would have this team primed and ready for the CFP, 10 feet tall and bulletproof once that Crimson monkey is off our back.

Ohio St has struggled with any team that has a pulse on defense. Their defense may be better than at the start of the season but not overwhelming at all.

From what I have read their QB does not like being hit. They will have their hands full in the next two games against Mich St and Mich. It would not surprise me if they lost one of those games.
