Tonight shows the playoff committee was a mistake

It’s nothing more than a glorified poll, no different than the AP or Coaches poll. You still have the same thing, people deciding who they think belongs where. It’s asinine we still choose the champion of the world’s greatest sport in the same manner beauty pageants are decided.

Bama has earned the benefit of a doubt. One fluke last second loss on the road doesn't change that.

If you think Bama isn’t the 2nd best team in the country over any of those others, I don’t know what to tell you. They got it right. It’ll all sort out anyway

They need to go back to a BCS model with only computer models. Shrinking the pool of selectors to a small committee was idiotic. Hell some years people not even associated with athletics are picking these teams. It’s madness

Sorry, but how a team played last year shouldn't matter.
No way should a one loss bama (to an unranked team) be ahead of an undefeated big 10 team with a better win than anything bama has.

I actually think it all looks completely right. Now will it all look right for the last one? I highly doubt it.

Nothing matters till the end and they almost always get the final 4 correct. It’s pretty easy to see who should be in the final top 4 usually

Not sure how auburn is 6-2 and ranked 13 above us with beating ole miss while we beat bama and lost to #17 but it’ll be figured out saturday

This is the biggest problem with the playoff crap. What has happened in the past should not matter. It's about what has happened this season alone. bama lost to a team who lost to Arky and State. What is their signature win?
It's the same glorified beauty contest it always was........there are just fewer voters.

I tried to tell you, I tried. Well, not specifically you but I called BS on this talking out both sides of their mouths fools from the beginning. It's a big charade to ultimately be almost exactly like the poll in the end. It's not funny anymore.

Street cred definitely matters. It’s ALL politics and like I said in a previous post, SEC & Big 10 have the most power in the political game the committee plays.

Ws and Ls and Conf Championships will flesh it out over time. Final poll will be as good as it can be.
Biggest controversy would be if UGA loses CCG to a 1 loss Bama in a closely contested game, Cincy is undefeated,B1G and Big 12 champs are undefeated or 1 loss conf champs and Wake&Oregon are 1 loss conf champs.
Uga would have eye test, but voting history has never placed a non-conf champ in over a P5 Conf Champ that had same or better record.

Because the losses matter too. Compare the losses of both teams.

Bring back the BCS model and just sub out the human polls (coaches' and harris) with the CFP committee and call it a day. The formula was much better than what we have now.
