Wow what an embarrassment at the :54 mark left in the game. Please Auburn fans never act this way

Agreed, but it was a terrible spot. Should’ve been a 1st down.

Please let us never resort to this.

No wonder Tennessee and Bama have a nice rivalry. That was some roll tide shite.

Before the 4th and 24 play Heupel should’ve called timeout. Hooker looked like he was gassed. The whole offense did.
The 4th and 24 play nearly converted but if they did not go backwards their pass would’ve been a nice first down.

I was at the UCLA game with my bol when they came to tuscalooser. They rained down cups and water bottles on the UCLA players when they kicked uat’s arse.

He was short. The ball was in his left hip pocket. He didn't even extend it.

I thought he was at least going to lateral it back or something.

Yeah, clearly down once they showed the end zone angle showing the ball at his belt.

It was shy of the 40 when his knee touched.

Looked short to me but we all had the same view

Seriously though, how was there no camera angle from the other side of the field?
You’d think we’d have cameras set up for every angle of every play.

The 1st down marker was just on the outside of the 40 and I have no doubt at all that when he came down the ball was at the line. The ball wasn't on his hip. from the one angle you could see the ball was between his chest and belly button. That was a 1st down all day long.

Live view looked clearly like he made first down.
However last replay showed the carrier tucked the ball into his gut and wasn’t stretched out. He was probably short, maybe not. Nothing conclusive to overturn.

Like TT said, a better angle would’ve provided more conclusive evidence. But these days you can never tell what the ruling will be on anything. I don’t know why CBS or ESPN keeps calling on Gene Steratore for commentary. The ruling on the field is often the inverse of what Steratore predicts. That even happened during the Georgia game today as well.

You're going to have a hard time convincing me that this was a 1st down.
This was as close as I could get to his knee hitting the ground. His knee is either on the ground, or a split-second away from hitting it.
The ball, which is in his left hand, is nowhere near the first down line. The ball is not extended.
