Every backup every year is better than the starter

Didn’t say anything about the backups. I said Bazelak sucks

He appears to be an adequate quarterback...nothing more, nothing less. Just alright.

He doesn’t suck, he’s just, average.
He’s just as good as let’s say Kyle trask last year. But Kyle has weapons, CB does not.

Really does not suck, he is not going to carry a team but he is a good solid QB. Look at the BC game solid at moving the team to the field goal with short time. His only real weakness is touch on the long ball.

He doesn’t suck.
Macon is exciting though. That’s the only reason this is a convo.

Which is a big weakness, but it’s not his only one.
He’s not mobile, which may be his biggest issue.
Sucks is strong though, you’re right. He’s just very average.

He's Drink's game manager. Excellent passing <20 yards. Terrible 30+ yards. Not sure why his running is limited??? Maybe a lingering injury? Does not suck like the OP.

He's not that bad. If we had even an average defense, we would be sitting at 5-1 with a win over a very solid Kentucky team. Hard to lay much blame on Bazelak at the moment.

If by Bazelak you meant the entire defense, then yes.

He's not a bad qb, but he is basically AVERAGE. The media loves him, because he makes very few mistakes and he probably won't make a ton of mistakes with 90% of his passes being checkdowns and dinks and dunks. He has the best 0-5 yd. passes in the SEC.
Our defense is the main reason that we are average to bad as a team.

I'm tired of the media being like, "nothing phases him", that's fine if you are winning but show some emotion and wake the team up. This team is obviously missing that entire element.

He is a classic game manager QB from what I have seen. There are far worse things to have... trust me... after the Chad Morris years I've seen those far worse things.
A game manager QB will not lose you a lot of games, but he won't win them for you either. Unless he gets randomly hot against someone. So if you have a game where your defense completely collapses you are kind of hosed because hulking up isn't really what your QB does.
I would guess that Drinkwitz is hoping to vastly upgrade the talent on defense and then, if he is stuck with a game manager QB, it isn't the end of the world.

Yea i have no problem having a game manager and especially in the offense Drink is building, it makes sense. The problem we have this year though is our defense is awful and our only chance we have is to get a Drew lock style QB whos gonna sling it 30+ yards down field 10-15 times a game and have pretty good accuracy on the deep ball but may miss the short throws or make a bad decision.

That would require some WRs to actually get that far downfield while getting "some" separation before CB is hit.

I'd kill for Bazelak. Yeah that's how bad our QB situation is.
