the SEC has won the MNC three of the last four years, the one exception 04..USC did play a heck of a game against choklahoma and were thought very highly of because of their dream backfield. But in hindsight especially after Browns day Sunday and Campbells play of late,

Campbell>Leinhart
Brown>Bush
Caddy>White

Nobody will deny AU got screwed that year. The world will never know, however, the outcome that might have been. USC was a strong team that year.

AU deserved a shot but their OOC schedule was really pathetic and i don't have much sympathy for them after that extra point debacle

NFL talent has nothing to do with college productivity.

you could also say
Lofa> anyone Auburn had on the entire team
Steve Smith and Kerry Colbert have been more productive than anyone Auburn had at wide reciever

When was the last time a team in the SEC dominated like AU in 2004? Somebody name a year. And by dominated, I mean undefeated and in total control with double digit leads in the 4th quarter and never trailing in the 4th all year with the exception of 1 game (LSU). My guess is one of Spurrier's teams at his peak may have done it in the 90's, but I am not sure. Someone would have to review an undefeated gator team from the 90's.

Throw in the four first round draft picks stat just for fun in the comparison against the greatest SEC teams in the pat 25 years and AU 2004 is right up there.

Finally, USC played several close games they were in danger of losing and no championship game. AU was challenged 1 time all year.

i believe all four of AU`s receivers are in the NFL now also..but i will concede the receiver category, but as far as Lofa goes i seriously doubt he coulda took the patriots down by himself as Ronnie did

bama in '92. We only trailed at 1 point the entire year. Miss. st. in Starkville and we wound up blocking a punt to win

You shouldn't get over it, Auburn got fricked in '04 without a doubt. To go undefeated in the SEC and not get a shot at the title is bullshite. The funny thing to me was that they used strength of schedule as the excuse when USC plays a bunch of fricking retards all year. Auburn atleast deserved a chance to play for the fricking title.

And against the likes of UL-Monroe, The Citadel and La. Tech. Thank God we had VT last year or we may have been left out too.

Auburn is just as much National Champs in 04' as USC was in 03'. USC didn't play in the NC game in 03' and were still called Champs, so therefore it is no different for Auburn. National Champs 2004.

The national media in 2004 tried to justify an OU/USC matchup by arguing that even if Auburn would have made it to the national championship game, they would have still lost. bullshite.....at the very LEAST it would have been a contest.

This may be the only rational thing BamaScoop has said today

This is a fact: USC played no ranked teams on the road that year.

I think you trailed 3-0 to LSU in the first quarter that year.

I'll agree with the first sentence, but not the second. It certainly isn't right that an undefeated team that had more wins over ranked teams in the final AP poll than either SCAL or Oklahoma didn't make the BCS NCG. That's why I think that there should be an automatic "plus one" trigger if an undefeated team is in the Top 4 of the final BCS rankings. Oh well.

Heck,if I was Auburn I wouldn't hesitate to fly a banner saying "2004 National Champion". The only two team to throw a fit would be Southern Cal and Alabama. Southern Cal decided in 2003 the BCS wasn't the only game in town, and Alabama counts anything Stuckey's puts on a clock.

Sad, but true.

Like the thread you started but I'm going to have to disagree. Reggie is a much more valuable asset to his team than Ronnie Brown (besides this weekend). Also, Lendale will probably be a better overall RB than CW in the long-run with his size and speed. Also, Caddie is too injury prone.
