State, you have 2 weeks to prep for Bama.

Your OL is doing ok. Your QB is doing great. WRs are catching the ball. You are 18 out of 21 in the redzone for the season.
Your defense is lacking. Giving up massive plays to less talent. Your LBs seems slower than past years.
So, where does that leave you vs Bama?

Converting on every 4th down and onside kicking after every score.
Lane laid out the blue print. Just execute it.
What could go wrong?

Try to stay within 50. That is the goal.

State won't have any chance to beat Bama.

I don't think so. I think you can move up and down the field in his system. It creates that.
The issue will be redzone. Your offense gives plenty of mis matches. It's why people play 3-8 and you still move it down the field. With us, the red zone will switch to man. Our speed in a crowded area will be your test.
You are going to need to have those 15 play drives that eat the clock because your defense is going to get slaughtered in the front. Your best defense will be your offense.
Your LBs are slow. I think #2 is your best one, but #3 is slow and take bad angles and dives at feet. I have not seen a bad LB like this at MSU in years. Last staff really did not help you there.
Our Run game with the ability of the QB to run will kill you.

We going to lose… want to have no injuries and minimize penalties. We will give up some big plays in the secondary. If we can get some scores and not just get embarrassed then I’ll be happy. If they stomp the shite out of us I won’t be surprised.

It's never surprising. No offense, but we recruit the best talent in the nation.
But, I think you are not giving enough credit to Leach and that staff. It was not long ago MSU was folding when down and breaking faces on your own team by your own team. You could get open. You couldn't hit the open guy... etc...
You will give us a better push than Ole Miss did. 100% better.

No major injuries. We have six winnable games following Bama. We will be 3-3 with two gimmes. Need to find a way to win one of the remaining four.

Wasn’t Croom the last MSU coach to beat Alabama?

Not to mention that was against Sabin (before he built the program). That pick 6 before the half was crazy.
Merlins came close a few times but could never get it done.
Croom going to Croom

MSU is an interesting match up to anybody they play. In the world of spread offenses etc, this is way different.
They don't use TEs. They are replaced with more WRs. you always have to defend 5 receivers, and 1 or 2 of those can be RBs.
It is exhausting to cover that on every play. 67 plays of running on every down. 90% of the teams can NOT man up on that. You are asking the impossible of LBs trying to run with them.
This is why people are dropping 8. Less running, but it still gets you in the 3rd and 4th quarters. There is a reason Leach wants 11 guys in that rotation without a drop off.
PS... you don't have to be able to run the ball in the SEC any more than you have to be able to pass. That's ignorance.
It still comes down to the talent level of the team they play and defense of a Leach team. For us, their defense is not what they were. They won't be able to stop us.
