Ranked by number of games played by the end of the 2021 regular season... but noted also is the date of the first game:
131- Wisconsin vs. Minnesota (1890)
126- Georgia vs. Auburn (Feb 1892)
126- Virginia vs. N. Carolina (Oct 1892)
126- Oregon vs. Oregon St. (Nov. 1892)
125- Cincinnati vs. Miami (OH) (1888)
124- Stanford vs. Cal (1892)
123- Purdue vs. Indiana (1891)
122- Army vs. Navy (1890)
120- Missouri vs. Kansas (1891)
119- Kansas vs. Kansas St. (1902)
118- Texas vs. Texas A&M (1894)
118- S. Carolina vs. Clemson (1896)
118- Ole Miss vs. Miss St. (1901)
117- Tennessee vs. Kentucky (1893)
117- Michigan vs. Ohio St. (1897)
117- TCU vs. Baylor (1899)
117- Texas vs. Oklahoma (1900)
116- Tennessee vs. Vanderbilt (1892)
116- Oklahoma vs. Oklahoma St. (1904)
115- Minnesota vs. Iowa (1891)
115- Illinois vs. Northwestern (1892)
115- Georgia vs. Georgia Tech (1893)
115- NC State vs. Wake Forest (1895)
115- LSU vs. Mississippi St. (1896)
Eleven of the Top 24 most played rivalries will consist of at least one SEC team after the next round of expansion.
Only SEC teams without a rivalry with at least 115 meetings are Alabama, Arkansas, and Florida.
It's amazing that Mizzou-Kansas hasn't been played since 2011 yet still ranks so high. A&M-Texas is also quickly falling down the list.
Georgia and Auburn just need to meet in the SEC Championship 6 more times to take the #1 spot.

We are THE South's Oldest Rivalry.

Mizzou and Aggy are the biggest pussies ever.
Just pathetic they won't play their rivals Kansas and Texas.

Should be #2 all time. But probably lost to the conference change and Kansas falling apart
I think the games they played in Kansas City were good for both schools. Great rivalry game in a semineutral location and it elevated the attention for both programs in the second biggest city in Missouri

Exactly. I think the Georgia and Auburn AD's need to make a joint statement next week before the game that we are officially declaring the rivalry to be named, "The South's Oldest Rivalry". It needs to become official since it is now a legit claim both by games played and the age of the series.

I do believe we are rightfully the South's Oldest Rivalry, but I like the mystique of "The Deep South's Oldest Rivalry".
Posted on 9/29/21 at 12:49 pm to DirtyDawg
It looks like it's tied as the SOUTH'S oldest rivalry, so why would they drop the DEEP from the title?

It's lost because Mizzou is too pussy to play them.
Same as Aggots dodging Daddy Horn.

All because Auburn couldn't stop Doc Pollard's offense

That's dumb.. same number of games.

Not really if the nickname is Oldest. If it were "The Deep South's Most-Played Rivalry", then it'd be dumb

Let's try this out.
I am born in February and you are born in October of the same year.
Who is older?

Nobody outside the two fanbases gives a rat frick about that game. Hell, 1/2 the state gives not a single frick.
I want LSU on rivalry weekend. Let the sips and land thieves play that day.

Tied in number of meetings, but Auburn-Georgia is older. The first meeting occurred 8 months before Virgina and North Carolina first played. So if its the oldest rivalry in all of the South, why do we allow UVA-UNC to claim that title and us relegate ourselves to only the "deep South"? Doesn't make sense to me.

Don’t worry. Be Happy.

yaaaaaaaa...
Thats not what happened, but if makes you happier we'll roll with it.
kansas was upset we left them and the B12, they wanted to end the series permanently(as did a lot of their fans)
Luckily we were able to get this going again, and it will resume in a few years.

This is 100% what happened.
But im sure arky fans know more about it, so I'll let them explain.

quote:This. Those SJWs at UVA/UNC spew CNN level propaganda bullshite. Funny thing is they don't even know or care about each other. UNC's biggest rivalry is obviously Duke/NCS and UVA hates VT more then they like themselves.
