It's amazing to me how many people think this actually matters.
Even if you didn't rank teams, people are going to rank and think those teams are good. Which is the reason why they get ranked to start with.
The committee doesn't release rankings until late in the year, and guess what...still basically the same as the AP etc.
Besides, what have you really learned after 1 week? That could have been the best 2 teams in the country for all we know right now. You're going off the same exact things they are.

I guess a better question is how many teams would have beaten UGA in Athens last weekend? More than 5? 10? Doubtful. Clemson could have played a nobody like most teams did, blown them out, and no one would be complaining. But they lost to a top 5 team on the road and now they're overrated. I do think they are given unfair treatment and should have zero benefit of the doubt given their schedule, but most teams aren't going to drop much further than them after losing to a top 5 team on the road by one score.

How much credit do you give a team for losing to a top ranked team? I'm not going to slaughter Clemson cause they lost a top 5 matchup but I'm not going to congratulate them for losing either. People don't like to hear it but right now I think Clemson is a top 5-6 program. (that could change but as of right now)
