What current traditions at your school do you wish went away?

For A&M, Corps Block seating. Prior to the 1997 season, cadets were dispersed throughout Kyle Field.

Don't know if it is considered a tradition, but the embarrassing use of STTDB in Neck and otherwise need to go away. Trashy.

You have to actively look to find the Yell Leaders. Having the entire first deck populated by cadets gives the impression to outside viewers that the cadet presence at A&M is larger than it is instead of focusing on hot women with big tits.

Unpopular opinion as I realize A&M has historic military roots but there’s waaaay too much emphasis on what amounts to 5% of the current student body.
Not that I want the corps to go away, just deemphasized

Doing away with Corps Block seating and allowing cadets to pull tickets with their class (like pre-Big 12) would do that.
That's why I brought it up. The entire reason for Corps Block seating is that the new Commandant in 1996 caught wind of cadets leaving after the march-in and watching the games from their dorm rooms or attending the games in civilian clothes. Since they were predominately D&C cadets and he couldn't hold their ROTC contracts hostage, he did it as a mass-punishment punitive measure that was endorsed by Ray Bowen and Malon Sutherland.

The worst tradition in the SEC is the school that acts like a service academy and simultaneously calls themselves farmers.

It’s one of the best differentiators in college, it’s a generally positive image (except when it isn’t), it’s our history, and we still have a legitimate military contribution made every year.
I just don’t understand why this triggers younger Ags so much. (And, no, I was not in the Corps for 4 years. I spent one semester. Wasn’t for me at the time, but I do appreciate them.)

While I appreciate you thinking I'm a younger ag, my freshman year was the year before Corps Block seating and I was a cadet. When cadets were in the stands in uniform with their non-reg classmates it provided more camaraderie between the two. Corps Block basically made it "us vs. them".

Solid answer, but you’re still only barely Old Army. My litmus test for that is whether Bonfire was on campus for you.
My “trigger” comment is actually more about the Corps itself, though this particular issue is one of the more cited “grievances”. Your reply makes sense to me, but I actually like the block. Not wedded to either option, though.

My fish year was 1985. Great times to be in Aggieland.
