1-4 vs non-ACC teams
vs #1 LSU - L 42-25
vs #7 Miami - W 42-17
@ #4 Notre Dame - L 47-40
vs #2 Notre Dame - W 34-10
vs #3 Ohio State - L 49-28
vs #5 Georgia - L 10-3
Of course, they don't have anymore Top 25 games this year, so this list won't get updated until December or January.

If Dabo comes to Bama (hope not) after Saban is done, Clemson goes back to irrelevancy.

How is the ACC a P5 conference? Unreal.

They're likely breathing a sigh of relief knowing they have an easy ride through their schedule.

I'm sure this has been said many times about many teams (including Alabama), but you really do get the sense that they are trending down as program right now.
They're only a "Brent Venables is leaving blah blah" sort of deal away from that slope getting much steeper, IMO.

I have a feeling they'll drop another one. Their OL won't get bullied like they did last week, but they're not great either. No big play down the field WRs. Big step back at RB without Etienne. That is a recipe for a slip-up even vs ACC competition.

I think 4 or 5 SEC west teams would go 11-1 with this joke of a schedule
NC State is the only team worth a crap besides UGA

Make no question about it....the Clemson nations sees the same thing which is why they are riding Dabo's arse to do what Nick Saban did when his ball control style of offense starting failing which was bring in Lane Kiffen to modernize the Bama offense.
The Problem is Clemson will most likely be 12-1 with arguably an ACC at a historical level of weakness and the fans will be calling fowl because they got "screwed" not making the playoffs.
It's going to be interesting to see how Dabo handles this issue.

Wasn't Notre Dame technically an ACC team for both of those games?
Pretty sure they're 0-4 vs non-ACC ranked teams.

And for the most part, got completely outplayed in the semifinal game before this

This is the key to the whole thing, and nobody's talking about it.

Certainly, I wished it was true about Bama going in decline but I never really believed it. One can really sense this is happening to Clemson and the ride is about over. This is one bad thing about playing in a weak conference: You've got to win them all (esp. your OOC games).

Yes they were.

Clemson's offense is just so basic and un-creative. When it has great playmakers and solid OL it works fine, but when those pieces are missing (2017, last Saturday)......it can really bog down into inability to do anything.

Dabo had a great run, but their downhill slide has started...

I don't mind losing to a better team and UGA was certainly the better team. I just can't get over how bad the play calling was and the QB play. They didn't even put up a fight. DJ literally looked like a rag in "Dawgs" mouth. (Pardon the pun).
He was stationary. Absolutely no mobility (there were some open lanes), he telegraphed every throw and his release was very slow with a bit of a wind-up. He looked like Logan Thomas from VT. When Ga saw no fear it became easy to stack the box and come after him every down.
Maybe this year was they wrong year to play this type of game as an opener. We could have used a tune-up game this year much like UCLA got before taking on LSU.

He really did look like a deer in the headlights, which was pretty shocking giving he had already played in some big games against good teams. They even circled multiple examples of guys coming open on reads that he has to be able to make in that offense and he just didn't see it or wouldn't pull the trigger.
He's clearly better than that game, but he definitely lost his nerve a little in the pocket.

The problem is the ACC is at what I think a historically bad league and DJ will have vulgar numbers this year against significantly inferior teams. (heaven help up if we actually lose a conference game). Maybe that will give him the confidence he needs to grow up. It's going to be hard to tell this year.

Honestly I don't understand how Clemson fans even get remotely excited about that crap. Alabama whips the arse of most teams on our schedule, but there are typically 3-4 compelling games every year even if they end up being 42-14 finals. How the frick does anyone get excited about playing Boston College, Wake, UCONN, Georgia Tech, and Syracuse in football?
