Torvik College BBall - SEC Projected Results and Standings 2021-22

Now that all the schedules are pretty much locked in (including conference schedules), Torvik has his projections by game records up. Looks exactly like we all think it'll be - a total blood bath. Based on this, I'd think we'd get 8 or 9 teams in depending the OOC games for State/OM/LSU.
6 teams within 1 game of each other, which basically means any of the 6 could easily win the league.
Torvik SEC 2021-2022 Projections
1. Alabama (18-9) (12-6)
1. Tennessee (20-9) (12-6)
3. Arkansas (19-9) (11-7)
3. Auburn (20-9) (11-7)
3. Florida (21-9) (11-7)
3. Kentucky (20-10) (11-7)
7. LSU (19-12) (9-9)
7. Mississippi State (18-12) (9-9)
7. Ole Miss (17-12) (9-9)
10. Vanderbilt (13-13) (8-10)
11. Texas A&M (15-14) (7-11)
12. South Carolina (14-17) (6-12)
13. Missouri (11-18) (5-13)
14. Georgia (9-19) (4-14)
Based on all their projected results and the RPI/NET implications of them, these are the projected seeds for teams with > 25% chance of making the tournament:
2 - Alabama (97.3%)
3 - Tennessee (97.5%)
3 - Kentucky (96.4%)
5 - Auburn (94.2%)
5 - Florida (94.5%)
7 - Arkansas (85.5%)
8 - LSU (72.9%)
11 - Mississippi State (27.7%)
Others
- Ole Miss (14.1%)
- Vanderbilt (2.4%)
Everyone else less than 1%

Aren’t y’all losing quite a bit? I feel like LSU may start off slow but once the team gets it rolling they can contend for 1st in the conference

yeah, I'm just going to say it now... there's a 0% chance LSU finishes at .500 or half way down in the conference.

With our out of conference blood bath of a schedule, I would be impressed with that OOC record.

LSU is such a tough team to project. A ton of talent but no way to know how any of it will fit. Probably will have some struggles offensively but should be able to defend this year.

Nate Oats will be terrorizing the ACC after Roy Williams or Coach K retires and he takes their place

I would be shocked if we were near this bad considering all the talent we have. Wade really did an incredible job assembling this new team after losing what we did. We also havent finished lower than 3rd in the conference the last 3 seasons.
The only question is how the new talent meshes all together, but most SEC teams are dealing with the same issues.

Is it really bad? The league is really good. This record is projected to be the same seed LSU had last year. Is this team better than that one?
It really wouldn't surprise me to see any order of the Top 7.

LSU was underseeded, punishment for still having Will Wade.

Georgia plays
- v South Carolina
- v Vanderbilt
- v Texas A&M
- v Ole Miss
- @ South Carolina
- @ Missouri
- @ Texas A&M
- @ Vanderbilt
They can definitely find 4 wins in there

I feel like with the massive turnover for so many teams it's so much of an unknown.

I mean we havent finished with a worse than an 11-6 conference record in the last 3 seasons. 16-2 ('19), 12-6 ('20), 11-6 ('21).
That also has us dropping 3 OOC games, and this is our OOC schedule:
ULM (At home)
Texas State (At home)
Liberty (At home)
McNeese St. (At home)
Belmont (At home)
Penn State (Neutral tournament)
Oregon State or Wake Forest (Neutral tournament)
Ohio (At home)
@ Georgia Tech
Northwestern State (At home)
Louisiana Tech (neutral in LA)
Lipscomb (At home)
@ TCU
Going to be really hard to lose 3 games on that OOC
