why do you think no more indies? Clemson generates the most revenue for the conference. Why should it split the money with Wake, Duke, Virginia, Syracuse and others that will never compete for a title and aren't committed to being an elite football program?

ND has only gotten away with their indy status because they have a true national brand that goes beyond sports. That’s how they can get their own network TV deal. No other team in the country has that on the same scale.
Even Bama’s and Texas’ appeal is limited to sports. ND has fans who follow them for no other reason than they are Catholic. I also know several fans of other teams who support ND on the side on the basis of religion. No other program has that other than BYU, and they don’t have the size and reach that ND does.
Clemson doesn’t have religion, Bama’s long history, or UT’s size to prop them us as an independent. That’s not an insult, either. Even Texas wanted to be in a bigger conference and made it happen. Clemson is much better off cashing in on the ACC’s mediocrity the way that FSU did for many years.

You are who you are because of those whipping boy's. Without them no more walking into second half of season then playoffs all fresh. Good and bad but I would not leave the conference your in with weak competition, doubled with a playoff comittee that will get you into playoffs every year. Wait till you can't do it anymore then something like your talking about

Who are you gonna play? Even ND had make cut a deal with the ACC fill out their schedule plus they're starting to add G5's to the schedule for the first time I can ever remember but I get the point about sharing your playoff and bowl revenue with the rest of the ACC

You Clemson people need to travel a bit and see the rest of the country. You might slowly become aware that you are actually quite a small frog… and a relatively poor one.
