Fiance just got a job offer from one of the big tech firms down there so it looks like we're going to be moving. She went to UT back in the early 2010's but a lot has changed since then. Where should we be looking to live/where should we avoid? Her office will be downtown and I'll be at The Domain.

I have to fly a decent amount for work and we also have a boat (I know this is pulling in all different directions). At least with Texas and A&M both in the SEC I'll be able to catch a few LSU games. Any help and advice is appreciated!

westlake for sure, that's most likely where Elon Musk, Joe Rogen live its safe, the hills are nice and the view of downtown is pretty awesome. There's also great football played there every other friday night. Not sure if you're at all a soccer fan but the domain just opened up their new pro soccer stadium and it's a great environment if you just wanna go frick around and drink beer. Welcome..

I guess you'll never have to worry about her cheating on you in Austin because the men like men there...

Rogen is on Lake Austin, but you need $5M+ to even sniff property on that lake.

It's a long commute but I would live in Lago Vista if I moved back that way. Really small golfing/lake town on LT & Cedar Park has everything you need just 15-20 minutes away. I love the lake in that area, you are starting to get into the Hill Country and it's really pretty. I can hook you up with some fishing holes if you ever get into that down the road. It might seem too far but Austin is growing insanely fast and this is one of the last places it hasn't caught up to....It will, but you can enjoy it while it lasts, and make a nice profit on the house down the line. Austin home prices seem absolutely absurd compared to 3 years ago.

What part of town will she be working?

Westlake has the richest zip code in Texas which is saying a lot. Austin Country Club is there right on the River. Domain is a nice area not far from there down 360 (capital of texas hwy).

I've stayed at The Island in Lago Vista a few times and really enjoy that part of the lake. Not a terrible drive to Austin but she'll be working downtown and I fly a lot for work.

I've got a wakeboard boat so don't need any fishing holes, appreciate the offer though!

Got buddy in Bee Cave

Area is perfect location, close to Austin, close to lakes, great schools, not a bad neighborhood in 10 mile radius
