So great at raising smart coaches? Smart enough not to stay in Arkie? Makes sense.

Lots of robbing the cradle going on in relation to Arkansas football.

Don't forget Levon Helm and Johnny Cash while you're at it.

And most importantly, Charles Portis

Doesn’t even include Lou Holtz, Pete Carroll, Barry Switzer, Jimmy Johnson, Monte Kiffin… so many, thanks Frank Broyles, who didn’t want anyone to out shine your record.

I’ll see your Johnny cash and raise you Garth brooks, Reba, Toby Keith, Blake Shelton, kings of Leon, Vince Gill, and Carrie Underwood. But good for you.

I'll take Cash, Levon and Glen Campbell over those hacks.

Johnny alone beats that group. (And I like several of them a good deal.)
Now, if you'd said Willie Nelson, Waylon Jennings, Kris Kristofferson, George Straight, George Jones, Bob Wills, Robert Earl Keen, Billy Joe Shaver, Ray Wylie Hubbard, Guy Clark, Clint Black, Kenny Rogers, Lefty Frizzel, Guy Clark, Roy Orbison, Barbara Mandrell, Lyle Lovett, Buddy Holly, Hayes Carl, Pat Green, Roger Creeger, Randy Rogers, Cory Morrow, Jason Boland, Mark Chesnutt, Townes Van Zandt then you might have had a point.

This is called red dirt music, or Texas country depending on where you’re at. You’re welcome. It’s Oklahoma/Texas based.

Did you just try to claim Bob Wills for Oklahoma? That's stupid.
And Ray Wylie Hubbard was born in Oklahoma, but moved to Dallas at a very young age and was raised there. Several of his songs talk about that. He's a Texas musician through and through.

Does Drinkwitz count since he is an Arkansas native? I believe he was born in Oklahoma. But was raised in Arkansas.

He’s from the shittiest town I have ever been to. They can have that. Soper, Oklahoma birthplace of Ray Wylie Hubbard just like how Brad Pitt was born to okies in Shawnee. Now back to red dirt/Texas country that these SEC suckers don’t even know about. It’s a big deal in rural oklahoma.

Anything Robert Earl Keen is a classic around here. Respect. You must be western Arkansas. This is the western/cowboy south man. Old school red dirt:
