Seems LSU is getting a lot more bang for its buck than either Whorn or Aggie.

Maybe Texas should consider contacting these alums about using that money to make them not suck at the one thing that the entire state of Texas cares about. You sound like an Aggie. Congrats.

Oh the old UT Endowment. There are some that know how that endowment became what it is. Texas, the State, granted land to both UT and A&M in the 1870's to grow the 2 Schools. Well, just like the Movie Giant, with Liz Taylor, James Deaan (he died before completing the film) and Rock Hudson, oil was discovered on the land both had.
The UT System, which is effectively Austin, has a $31 Billion dollar endowment, $20 Million is due to Oil, so the delta is $11 Million that can be estimated to contributions.
LSU System is actually around > $900 Million, so that $540 million number might be restricted to use for LSU Baton Rouge only, the other is more Discretionary and can be spent at the Discretion of the President of the System.
So UT's is about 11 times larger than LSU's. However, Texas population is 7.5 times larger than LA and UT_Austin is larger than LSU and with annual enrollment of 52,000 students, LSU is around 34,000, that is an average of 18,000 more a year.
Texas to its credit, with no Individual State income tax and huge land mineral rights to fund infrastructure and education (as I already documented) has resulted in 50 Fortune 500 Company HC being located there.
You produce that many graduates in Engineering, IT, Computer Science, Finance, Marketing, Accounting, Analytics, with that many Fortune 500 Companies, you are going to have the alums that make up the difference in size of the Endowment that I can't reconcile do to differences in population (which is 7.5 larger). So, the 11 Billion difference in size of Endowments (after adjusting for the Texas Oil Fund on the UT land) after accounting for size of the two states (7.5) leaves roughly $3.5 Billion difference that probably relates to lots of UT alums working for those 50 Fortune 500 Companies.
Congrats.

Ah, play the $$$ card when you can’t succeed between the white lines.
All that money & you couldn’t manage to win a FB championship in a 2nd tier conference in how many years?
LOL thinking you can just buy an SEC FB championship. You’ll be a doormat for many years to come, just like you’ve been in the Little 12.
Good news for you, mediocre FB is something you’re accustomed to, LOL.
