Just understand that you may be a have in football, but on the basketball court, you are going to be one of 15. Arkansas was a biggest dog on the block in the SWC, they tried us in the early 90’s and we showed them where they belonged. If you don’t understand that yet, you soon will.

And I know UGA basketball is a dumpster fire, but I'm not out here trying to flex basketball credentials.

Chris Beard is a good coach, but if he couldn’t consistently overcome Kansas at Texas Tech, he’s not overcoming Kentucky at Texas.

1992 Sec tournament champs - Kentucky
1993 SeC tournament champs - Kentucky
1994 SEC tournament champs- Kentucky
1995 SEC tournament champs - Kentucky
No, they really didn’t. I remember Jamal Mashburn, Antoine Walker, Tony Delk etc. laying the wood to Todd Day, Corliss Williamson and Scotty Thurman when the money was on the line.

Texas has a potential Final 4 team this year. Beard worked some magic with the transfer portal.. TBD if the players will be a good team together on the court, but he put together a monster roster.

Calipari should be hog tied and whipped for his coaching performance in that game. We beat Auburn twice in the regular season, once by 26 just by running and gunning. For some reason, he thought slowing the game down was a good idea. Makes me sick. You guys didn’t take advantage though. You had Virginia beat. Terrible call in my opinion cost you guys that game. I was pulling for you.

This is the one area that competition goes down in the big 3 sports. Football and Baseball get more difficult. However, with the recent hiring of Beard, his efficient use of the COVID transfer rules and a new arena building built, we are in a very nice spot in Basketball. You trade Kansas for Kentucky, but past that we drop Baylor, WVU and Tech (granted they are going to take a step back with the coach change) for some talented SEC teams, but none with much consistency of late (Arkansas, Alabama, Tennessee, Florida). Who knows where it goes, but this is the first time in quite a while Big12 or SEC that Texas basketball feels on the rise.

So, it will stay as the Big 6 for now

Tennessee is likely out soon, and Oklahoma is likely on the way in

Texas and aTm both have a chance to force their way in and call it the Big 7

Gotta win an SEC Championship to be in the club, gotta keep winning them to stay in

The original Big 6 for the SEC?

Alabama, LSU, Tulane, GA Tech, Tennessee and Miss State

Georgia replaced Miss State quickly, and then Tulane fell out to be replaced by Ole Miss

Auburn jumped in to replace GA Tech, and Florida eventually nudged out Ole Miss

Tennessee looks like the next team to drop out

Who replaced them?

aTm was looking pretty solid for a minute, but if the Sooners come over as expected, we’d have to say they have the inside track

Texas? They just THINK they should be in because of their snobbery...

Tennessee will surprise you. They are no joke. Barnes always chokes in the tournament, but they are tough in the regular season. That’ll become a nice rivalry with your former coach.

We are well aware of his ability to flame out late in the season and into the tournament, we will just schedule them late in the season.

Wouldn’t OU be towards the top of the conference in tourney appearances and wins? I literally don’t even know outside of Kentucky.

I would think so. The Sooners have been pretty solid over the years. Billy Tubbs, Kelvin Sampson, Lon Krueger etc. They’ve had some really good teams.
