Q. Did you think you guys had a chance to keep Arik Gilbert as you looked at his options? What do you see for him at Georgia as they're looking for a wide receiver?

ED ORGERON: We wish him the best. He's an outstanding bright young man. Mama is a great lady. I think he's going to be an All-Pro tight end, All-American, has a chance to be a first round draft choice.

Very classy from O there

I’m sure Georgia will use him well.

Former 5 Star top TE Darnell Washington last season
7 rec 166 yards 0 TDS

He will essentially replace Pickens until he’s back in the physical WR role. He gives up some speed for size though.

Gilbert
6-5
245 pounds (plans to get down to 230)
4.73 forty yard dash (at 258 pounds m)

Pickens
6-3
205 pounds
4.5 forty yard dash

A. Gilbert isn’t a TE

B. It was widely reported that Washington was a project as soon as he stepped on campus. We would’ve redshirted him if it wasn’t a Covid year. He far exceeded expectations to become backup TE by the end of the year.

A lot less physicality with Arik.

Some plays look effortless because he’s a freak athlete, some plays it looks like he doesn’t try because he’s not.

Odd that you are on this board and don’t know who the coach of the 2019 national champions is. Must not know much about college football.

Gilbert is a locker room cancer and a head case which is very unfortunate because he’s so talented

Remember O giving AU’s Marlon Davidson and Big Kat Bryant accolades postgame… of course he’s gonna pump up Gilbert.

Early indications are that it was LSU that was the cancer. Arik hasn’t missed a single class and all his teammates love him!

It’s really not surprising that he hated LSU. Between being away from home, the rape culture, the shitty football team, the corrupt athletic department, and half his teammates quitting on him before the season even started, I’m surprised he made it that long before he had to get out of there.

The important thing is that this young man is in the right place now. UGA is the perfect place for him to thrive athletically, academically, and emotionally. God bless him.

Or... are you an indie? That's cool too. Lot of ladies don't like frat boys.

Lol no. Official “Rush” is a formality. Actual rush started in January. Most frats nowbdecide their pledge class before summer starts.

I went up for rush events twice and was offered a bid. I turned it down because I’m involved with something on campus that’s gonna take up like 30-40 hours a week.
