Birmingham people need to stop calling it 59/20. Some dumbass traffic engineer up that way started this and got all the local media to go along with it but their reasoning is dead-arse wrong.

The first completed interstate (59) does not go first…why in the hell do you think every cosigned roadway in America does lower number shield then higher number shield? 75/85, 20/59, etc.

About 1978 a huge flood swamped the low land near the Black Warrior and over to the Tombigbee. Hundreds- thousands of cows were driven out of the flooded pastures up onto the raised Interstate right of ways to keep them from drowning.

I helped one such drive, about 100 cows…stayed out there for two days and nights because cows are stupid and will try to go home through the flood.

Thought y’all would like a little context.

I'm not judging, but the big girl looks a little young.
