I think State is the 2nd most historical baseball program in the SEC, even above South Carolina and Vandy who each have two titles. State has the history and the fan base to make them the second most historical.

South Carolina has a better history at the CWS than MSU does. It’s really not that close

I moved them up to 4 ahead of UF because of how much respect I have for their program.
But IMO baseball (much like basketball) is all about tournament success as it relates to overall rankings.
South Carolina has a very strong history.
NC: USC-2 MSU-1
R-up: USC-4 MSU-1
CWS: USC-11 MSU-12
NCAAT: USC-33 MSU-39
As for Vandy, 2 NC's and 2 R-up's is too impressive for MSU to be ranked above them. Only 15 programs in college baseball have 2 or more NC's.

South Carolina was national runner up twice in the 1970's, went to Omaha 3 times in the 1980's, 3 times in the 2000's and won 2 titles and was national runner up in the 2010's. We've been a top tier baseball program for 50 years.
