“We are about to have weapons all over the field," Gilbert said. That is going to be crazy with me and Darnell (Washington)on the field at the same time, think we came out of high school as the top two guys at our position, it is going to be exciting for our fans to watch.”

“Thank you all the fans and all the support from LSU, I had a good time while I was there,” he said.
His mother, Akiba Gilbert, might just be more excited than the new member of the UGA football team. Her life is about to change and from her point of view, it's for the better.
“It will be much different for me, I am going to drop him off in Athens and I am driving back straight an hour to work. You can not beat that,” Akiba Gilbert said with a big smile on her face.

Unlikely he'll be able to play in the fall.
Guess we'll see.
ETA: I say this because pretty much every source indicated that he has very limited credits, and was given a waiver to play only at LSU this fall if he completed academic requirements. As i understand it, those requirements would be much tougher/impossible to complete at another school.
In addition, he has a suspension looming over his head at LSU, that LSU had the option to either enforce or waive (no matter where he was enrolled this upcoming fall). I would imagine LSU now enforces that suspension to the fullest extent they are able.

Congrats. Hopefully he gets his life together and helps UGA win a bunch of games when they aren't facing LSU.
The LSUstephen17 curse strikes again.

Is he fast enough to play WR? Seems like he'd be less of a mismatch at WR.

100% agreed. They have all that talent shame to waste it.
