Of course he did, I just like calling out idiotic posts with emphasis. He had to throw in a few choice words at me which only reinforces the ole story about two lawyers on opposing sides. The ones with the Facts and Law pounds the facts and the Law (that would be ME!). The one with neither the facts or the law pounds the table and screams profanity, that would be Him.

No, you aren't even arguing the right case. That's the entire problem. You imagined some shite, then started debating something that didn't even exist.

You couldn't even follow the basic conversation that you decided to jump into mid point.

Might as well go to the politics forum and argue with all those idiots, because that's the kind of shite they do.

Oh, so you are only going by Alabama's records against LSU during the decades?

That's funny.

I hate to break it to you, but LSU was such an unimportant game that it was rarely televised. Most of the time I would listen to them on the radio, and it seemed like often times that coincided with the first day of dove season. So most of my memories of LSU was listening the LSU get their asses kicked while dove hunting in a corn field.

No

The most popular theory, at least on the Internet, is Rodriguez's wife, Rita, put the kibosh on moving to Tuscaloosa. The theory goes that Rita Rodriguez heard Finebaum making fun of her on his show, and was turned off by the idea of having to deal with that on a consistent basis. Finebaum has long disputed the claim - he even addressed it in his book "My Conference Can Beat Your Conference" - and said it came from a rival radio host and message boards. Rapoport, who had a source inside the proceedings, said Rodriguez's wife was absolutely on board.

"She was coming," he said. "They were all coming. He just changed his mind and stayed."

My favorite part:

He was soon on the receiving end of death threats, nasty emails and a public callout from Paul Finebaum. "It was really vile, horrible stuff," he said. "I was public enemy number one."

I'm going by our overall records each year and the 80s clearly > 90s for us.

And this is why you are a dumbass. I was explaining why per capita doesn't mean much, NOT that the numbers were wrong.

Further, I used Alabama as the example because NOBODY ever thinks of Alabama as a hot recruiting bed state. Yet in overall numbers Alabama has more. And yes I know it was very little difference, THAT WAS THE ENTIRE frickING POINT.

My 4th post had to try and clarify even further.

And at no point did what I post have to do with Alabama football, other than responding to someone about why Alabama beat LSU 9 out of 10 times.

Aside from the poke about nobody wanting to live in Louisiana, I was actually sticking up for LSU, but you dumb fricks are so stuck on anything Alabama, that all you ever see is red.

fricking dumbass LSU fans. You guys are literally the worst fanbase I have ever come across. Auburn and Tennessee are our actual rivals, but you guys are the biggest group of frickheads in the country.

With respect to per capita, I actually showed that in absolute numbers LA is top 10 as well, and as I noted LA has 59 players on NFL rosters, Alabama has 60. 1 difference in total, Alabama has 350K more in population.

I have never said Alabama does not have good HS football. In fact, excellent HS football as evidenced by 60 AL HS football players on NFL rosters for the 2020 season. However, you do have 2 SEC upper half of the league type programs which does complicate it a bit. So if you want to discuss the quality of HS football in Alabama, sounds like a legitimate topic and I in fact agree that AL HS football is excellent

As for rivals, I have always said that using the traditional measurements of Rivals, long time history of school Administrator's, AD's, alums, fans, players and coaches viewing an opposing team as a rival, AL/AU (throw in in-state SEC teams) is by all said definition a True Rival. AL/TENN is a border state SEC battle that historically meets the definition.

I have never said LSU and AL are rivals using the traditional definitions of rivals at any time during my now 9 years of posting on Tiger Droppings. So on the point of who is Alabama's traditional rivals being AU and TENN, I in fact agree with you. I have made these same points with fellow LSU posters who play the "rival" card when LSU plays Alabama. Has that game produced some of the biggest games in the SEC since Saban arrived there in 2007? Yes, and again I am well aware that Alabama has an 11-4 advantage since then.

I think we are discussing 2 different things. I thought you were saying Alabama was worse in the 90s.

Sorry.

This is how an Alabama fan melts in a thread that had absolutely nothing to do with Alabama until he popped in and started running his cockholster off.

For about the 100th time, nobody was disputing the per capita numbers. It's quite amazing that you can continue to make my point for me, while at the same thing thinking you are making points in the opposite direction.

Everything you posted beyond that, I'm not even sure what the frick has to do with anything. Who gives a shite about the quality of HS football in Alabama? It has at no point had anything to do with anything I said, and you just continue to demonstrate you are arguing against shite you've made up in your own mind.

And to restate what I said. You clearly said the numbers don't mean what some people think they mean. Well, again, what do they mean? And for the record, it was an Alabama fan that posted the OP. Not an LSU fan.

The per capita and absolute numbers (I linked those in a post) are statistical facts. And again, the topic of the OP not only had LA as Per capita #1 in producing elite NFL talent at speed positions (WR, DB, RB) and in today's NFL I would add F-TE (Flex TE's) and LB's, LA producing excellent LB, but also states like AL, FL, GA, MS, etc, etc.

So again in the context of the OP, it was in fact about the quality of HS football in LA as well as other SEC footprint states.

I never turned this into an LSU/Alabama game thread, You did that and added your nobody wants to live in LA comment. Yes, others before you brought in the LS/Alabama game angle, but it was more football related without the BS commentary you had to add about LA.

Ok, this is the last time I'm going to say this.

I replied to someone in the thread, NOT THE OP. That person asked why LSU was losing to Alabama 9 out of 10 times while being #1 in per capita.

And the answer is because the overall numbers are more important. Which is why people always want to recruit California, Florida and Texas.

I used Alabama as an example BECAUSE THEY ARE SO CLOSE TO THE NUMBERS. You keep telling me I'm wrong because they are so close overall, and I keep telling you - THAT IS THE frickING POINT.

So while it is a cool stat, the per capita doesn't really translate into having easier access to more recruits. It just means they are more common in your population.

I don't give a frick about Alabama vs LSU Highschool or talent on the topic - YOU DO. I was only trying to point out the BASIC frickING MATH.

But because I said the words Alabama and Louisiana remotely together, you won't shut the frick up about Alabama vs Louisiana. I don't think it even matters what I say at this point, you're just stuck in this ignorant arse conversation against your own imagination.

So have a nice fricking day dipshit.

Well the reason LSU has lost 9 out of 10 has more to do with who is coaching at Bama (Saban) vs. who he as coaching against at LSU.

LINK

And again, LA is 8th in the country with NFL talent from is HS ranks (25th in population). 59 NFL players were on 2020 NFL rosters who played their ball in HS here in LA. So it is not just per capita per se, although those players are concentrated at certain positions for the most part (although QB is changing in HS ranks here).

Texas is right next door and LSU has historically done well in TX. Obviously AL borders GA and FL which are hot beads but prior to Saban, was Alabama going into GA and FL getting 4 and 5 stars consistently?

But yes, CA, TX and FL are states that have talent at every position across the board. I agree with you on that point and again noted that LA HS football does not have talent year end and year out at every position across the board and in fact I used the QB position to make that point in my first post.

I somewhat knew there was a controversy over "per capita" on this board, and yet posted this anyway.

And now here we are, embroiled in a vigorus back-and-forth on the legitimacy and appropriate application of "per capita."

Sorry, baws. My bad.

But hey, at least we're having a semi-serious discussion about football.

ETA: I also blame RD Dawg for starting all this bullshite about "per capita."

Why do people have a problem with per capita? Makes sense. Rather spend your time in states that produce elite talent at a higher clip than states that don't. Saves time, money, etc.
