Who spawned the likes of Kenneth Copeland, Joel Osteen, and Benny Hinn.
They’ve made their entire careers as false prophets who steal from the impoverished to stuff their own wallets.
Arkansas is about to do Gods work.

Not if the people praying in this space-ship have anything to say about it.

I remember Johnny Carson making lite of Oral during one of his monologues
Carson "I parked beside Oral Roberts in the NBC parking lot and the next day my windshield wipers started working"

Yep. The fruit of the “word of faith” movement is thorns and thistles.

Just think about all the poor and sick people who invested in that monstrosity.

That might be the creepiest gif I have ever seen.

Being that Tulsa is the closest metro to NWA, we've all been there. If a person is ever stuck there for a few days and bored, the ORU campus is trippy as shite.
Worth a stroll.

I like the architecture. But I can't help but think that it was funded in large part by little old ladies watching tv and giving ten percent of their social security checks to the Oral Roberts tv network(whatever it was called) back in the day.

Looks more like a Disney amusement park than a university. I think the architect tried going above and beyond what was practical.

I’ve seen enough episodes of The First 48 to know I’m avoiding Tulsa like the plague.

Maybe.
My Grandpa battled alcoholism for most of his adult life. In our small town he was known for drinking way too much and when he eventually tried going to Church with my Grandma, trying to get his shite together, the local Southern Baptist didn't care for the mostly Choctaw Indian defiling their pews.
Either because of the reception or because he was ashamed, he began watching the Sunday morning Church services on TV. He never had much money, worked for the state department as a bridge sandblaster and painter, but one time he sent Oral Roberts a small amount and in return received a Bible.
He kept that Bible the remainder of his life and read from it daily. He never stopped drinking completely, but he was able to get it under control and live a productive life.
You never know who watches those programs and who may truly benefit from them.
BTW, I'm pulling for the HOGS!
