You gonna ignore me now or answer the question?
It's pretty rudimentary logic. Even a 12 year old can do it.

I don’t believe you answered my original question. Read back through the thread and maybe you can figure it out.

You asked that question to somebody else, pops.
I merely noted that you appeared to be of the belief that a better record mattered....yes?
If so, the entire premise of this thread is wrong......per you, of course.

Arkansas athletics has been such garbage over the last several years, all y’all can hang your hat on is a second place finish in basketball. Brutal.

47 National CHAMPIONSHIPS say otherwise

Cross country and indoor track don’t count. That’s like Auburn counting equestrian. What about in the real sports?

This coming from a sidewalk fan supporting a football team that claims numerous bogus championships. Sorry little fellow.

Still waiting for an answer to the original post which you decided to comment on even though it was not addressed to you. You seem very confused. Milk and cookies are your reward for a competent answer

Since you can’t effectively respond I guess it’s Aloha.

My answer would be that they awarded championships differently back then, rightly or wrongly. Every school in America recognizes AP National Titles. Arkansas is more than welcome to recognize their FWAA Title.
Now, I assume you will be answering my question? Or is it past your bedtime?

It is all mythical titles because any school can claim any title. AP and coaches poll recognized Alabama as the champion but lost to Texas in the bowl. That really screwed things up and they decided to wait until after the bowls to name the champion. Arkansas won against Nebraska and ended the season as the only unbeaten team in the nation.
Arkansas was named the champion from seven selectors after the bowls. But it is no more or less a mythical champion as any other team that could claim it.
Before the the CFP, all titles were mythical because no human polls that are biased or even the computers could accurately name a champion. That ended when the CFP began.
Nothing will take away the national championships from both Arkansas and Alabama that year. If both schools claim that they won it that year then that is fine, no harm done.

Alabama's SEC record is 16-2 vs Ark 13-4.
Bama won it's first 10 SEC games, including wins at UT, at LSU by 30, at UK by 20, at AU and home vs OM by 18, UF by 15, Ark by 31, UK by 11, LSU by 18.
Bama coasted home going 6-2, easily winning the title by 2.5 games.
Bama crushed Ark by 31, with Ark never in the game, Bama leading by at least 10 after 7 or 8 min, and leading 42-19 at half; then lost at Ark by 16 after losing its cool when after Alabama leading by 7 in the 2nd half, Ark got a total of 45 FTs vs Bama's 8 - even the announcers noted it. Ark played better in that game but not by that much.
