We are so gonna get wrecked in conference play

This weekend(2/19-2/21) is the first weekend of college baseball play since around March 11 of last year. Meaning, a lot of these kids have not taken meaningful snaps for 11 months.

What do you expect from them? Yes, we lost some all time Bulldogs and it sucks that we will never know how far we could have gone with them last year, but its over. Cant cry anymore. This is who we have.

We still have a roster talented enough for some pundits to put us in their top 25s for the preseason. We didnt lose everyone. We also gained a top 25 recruiting class(PG) and the best incoming freshman in the SEC in Corey Collins(me).

Yes, we are going to lose some games early. Yes, its probably going to get ugly at times, but strangely, I believe in Stricklin. We will be a very hard out come May.

Hard to judge this team right now. Good news is we basically played our JV squad full of guys who didn’t even get a senior high school season and went 3-1 against a mid-major full of upperclassmen. But we won’t know what we really are until Cannon, Webb, and the bullpen are healthy. Tate twins are doing what they should but Anderson and King are starting out in a slump and they’ll get out of it eventually. When they do and assuming pitching remains healthy, we could look a lot more dominant. Again, beauty of the schedule is we get a month to frick around with some mediocre competition before it’s all gas.
