Let’s hope he can evolve for his sake. Wish him well.

How much this gonna save us?

None. I don’t believe there was any offsetting language in the contract.

Should do well there. 3-4 years from now Tennessee will hire him and then continue their mediocrity but may beat Bama finally once or twice.

If true, wow. It’s crazy how quickly buyout structures went from being about dissuading coaches from leaving their current school to just screwing the school that fires them

From the article linked in the OP:

Malzahn is known for his no-huddle hurry-up offenses.

I’d love to see this happen.

My son just said he was hired. Anybody seen anything official?

Going to be an epic failure in the end just like he was here. I can't wait to watch this slow moving trainwreck.

Maybe he will be motivated to evolve some there. He probably won't need to at first, but it was pretty clear he wasn't happy at Auburn the last couple of years and it was mutual. Maybe he just needs a change.
He will run a solid program there and he doesn't have the pressure of recruiting in the top 10...and still being way behind there.

I just became a UCF hater.

Auburn paid an AAC coach $49 million. And $21 million just to go away. Brilliant leadership.

What about Kodi Burns? He was hired at UCF, bolted after about one week and now Malzahn is hired at UCF. I wonder if he will bolt Tennessee now for daddy Malzahn?

Happy for him. He’ll do a good job there.

Perfect job for Gussie.
His grandkids can visit him and go to Disney World.
Relatively low expectations compared to the SEC.
He can recruit slightly better talent than the rest of his competition and cancel out his ignorant, outdated offensive philosophy.
