Bama likely wins the championship anyway but when teams were decimated by contact tracing protocols, no spring, limited fall, conferences not playing then sorta playing, some schools playing 12 games while some played 5? And tOSU asking for a delay that wasn’t granted. It merits an asterisk because of situations outside Bama control, situations they couldn’t control.
What this season did for me is expose the playoff committee in a new and different way. They were willing to overlook SOS, attrition that teams had to fight through, and Ohio State, who never played more than 5 regular season games never played a game back to back until the Alabama game. That's gross dereliction of duty unbecoming for any Playoff committee.
The playoff committee got it wrong for all of college football. They completely sold out to give us the buckeyes and Dabo was right with his vote and having the courage to explain it several times.
The only thing I genuinely hope comes from 2020 is an 8 team playoff. Florida, Georgia, Oklahoma sitting at home watching Notre Dame, Clemson, and Buckeyes at 6-0 represent the best of the best was just insane.

So your answer to an unworthy team being in the playoffs is to expand it to allow 4 less worthy teams in? How does that make sense?

Notre Dame, Clemson, and Ohio State vs Georgia, TAMU, and Oklahoma. What's your argument?

Playing teams with 85 percent of their rosters. Much less challenging.

Doesn't matter. I see a LOT of .500 or sub .500 teams, which compromised the majority of games. Holy shite!

That you seem to feel tOSU didn’t deserve to be be there but want to put a bunch of teams with less business being there in. tOSU was an undefeated power 5 conference champion. You cannot leave them out of a playoff unless you have 5 undefeated power 5 conference champion teams.
We really need an empirical standard for a playoff instead of a subjective feeling of who should be in a playoff. Otherwise you will keep expanding it. As it stands 4 usually seeing at least 1 usually 2 teams that don’t preform to the expectations of a playoff team. Subjective feelings see this and want to include more teams.
Criteria to be a playoff team per smokeyone:
1. Undefeated P5 conference championship winner
2. 1 loss P5 conference championship loser
3. Undefeated P5 independent
4. Undefeated G5 conference championship winner
5. 1 loss P5 team that didn’t win its division or independent
6. 2 loss P5 conference championship winner
7. 2 loss P5 conference loser/independent/didn’t win its division
Start at the top and work your way down til you have 4 teams.
This ends The Who should or should not get in stuff and slows down expanding/cheapening the playoffs

That's your opinion. Who really knows who was best if we don't use the same measuring stick? That was impossible with the buckeyes. They played half a schedule. Ohio State was in the playoff in 2014 and didn't make the B1G championship game. Penn State won the B1G that year. Yet, there they were and won the whole thing by the way.

Humans will always be subjective. Humans decide things even when we load those computers and it spits out Boise State as the best in the land.
Notre Dame got their azz handed to them vs Clemson. The very next game, Clemson got their azz handed to them by Ohio State. The very next game Ohio State got their azz handed to them by Alabama.
I can easily make an argument for Georgia, TAMU, and Oklahoma as just as worthy as those 3.

This is a dumb take. They are only playing each other so of course some teams will be under 500! In fact, Alabama played all SEC schools except for the two worst.

Bama played with 100% of their team all season?
Wow, even more impressive, and further proof that 2020 Bama is tGOAT team.

The problem with your list is that all those teams did not play OOC games. Every single one of them would have had a much better record. The funny thing is the SEC with those "lousy" teams, went 6-2 in bowl games.
The SEC is the toughest conference in the country, and Alabama played 11 of those teams.

You failed to mention because of LSU chickening out.

Name one that has won the NC 12 out of the last 17 years?
Name one where almost all the schools have winning bowl records?
