Are we really sure that Myles Brennan is even better than Max Johnson? I can't be the only one who thinks this, and I am an LSU fan.

Not sure if this is a troll. But I will answer with; The new OC and PGC have said the QB battle will be wide open. Hopefully they chose who runs the Offense over seniority. Time will tell but let’s all hope Spring practices are not limited

Johnson looks the part. I hate to see LSU with a top flight QB from out of state. Think about it.

I think it's Brennan if he's healthy and there's minimal chance of reinjury. It sounds like it was pretty serious.

Brennan did have Marshall and Gilbert at the time though, and against Vandy, Mizzou, and Miss St. Max led the offense well against a solid Florida defense

Florida and Ole Miss are 96th and 98th respectively in team passing efficiency defense.

Who knows. The OC has to figure out the plays before selecting a QB

The spring is for finding who’s best:

Brennan
Johnson
Finley
Nuss

The best should be the starter. And yes, I think max may be #1. Not sure if max will ever play.

That defense was nowhere near solid. Florida's defense was absolute trash.

I prefer Max Johnson. Brennan lack of pocket presence. His inability to get rid of the ball under pressure or evade the rush and taking unnecessary sacks was mind boggling for a 4th year player. It was nearly impossible to convert a 3rd down with him under center. He’s got arm talent and can make nearly every throw from the pocket but I don’t think the mental part of the game or the athleticism is their enough to be a championship level QB in the SEC. if he ends up being the guy I hope he proves me wrong but I think Johnson and Nussmeier are the answer at QB for LSU over the next few years.

Brennan had more support. He had Gilbert and Marshall. Max had neither and was more efficient and beat Florida on the road and won a shootout with Ole Miss. if he starts the A&M game instead of Finley they very well could’ve won that one too.

Max also had better offensive line play and more of a run game which are both more important than having Marshall and Gilbert.

When exactly was Max more efficient?

Max Johnson was a true frosh.

Brennan was a junior.
