I’m trying to bring a little positivity to the rant. This thread is for players who made memorable contributions, even if people outside of your fanbase don’t know who they are. These are the guys that make college football so special.
Matt Caddell: WR from 2003-2007, made the game winning TD reception against Arkansas in Saban’s first season (2007). Quiet, hard-working, humble guy, who made a huge play when he was given a chance and the opportunity arose.
Marvin Constant: bad arse linebacker who blew out his knee as a RS freshman stopping Josh Booty on the goal line, preserving a Bama win in 1999. I remember seeing this dude in the weight room at Alabama in the early 2000s and he was a beast. He would’ve played in the NFL for sure if he hadn’t gotten hurt.

Lane Bearden: toughest punter to ever wear Crimson.
"Bearden punted through a season with a torn ACL, he made 11 tackles on kicks and punts, and, he memorably gave a South Carolina gunner the business, decleating him and then roughing him up when the Gamecock tried to get back off the ground."

I freakin’ loved Bearden
He tore his ACL on a needless fake punt that Fran called for no reasons. He came back to punt a few games later. His absence is the main reason we lost to Georgia that year.

He’s kind of known and actually went to the nfl for a bit, but Kelvin Sheppard comes to mind. Was a great leader on the defense and overachiever. He was a 3 star who willed himself into the NFL. Gave an awesome speech on the sideline with tears in his eyes before the 2010 Bama game. Dude was fearless and gave his soul to LSU

Jim Bob Cooter. Self explanatory.

Agreed. Bearden's DNA should have been preserved.

Phillip Doyle. As a kid growing up in the 80’s he was one of my heroes. One of the best place kickers Alabama has ever had.

Jack Hunt: Safety at LSU from 2000-03. Well he moved their junior year after being a WR freshman and sophomore year. Only game we lost in 03 was the only game he missed against UF. Just a smart, hard nosed effort guy. He was also from a local HS so that factored into it.

Josh Jasper PK "07-'10.
He did it all . . .
Onside kicks
Put on a pooch punting clinic vs Auburn in '2010
Fake punts
He was the guy who caught the bounce on the fake FG vs UF in 2010.
Kicked 3 FGs vs Bama in '10.

After football was a pretty solid slow pitch softball player. Didn't hang around the sport very long but was pretty good and could have played at high levels if he wanted to

Going back:
Dick Schmaltz, the wide receiver opposite Terry Beasley.

My favorite Vol, Andy Kelly.
*I was just waking up, here's a quick bio.
The man who ushered Tennessee football into its 1990s glory days. When he graduated, he pretty much had every passing record possible for the school.
Kelly was a freshman on the 1988 team that went 5-6. Then he was thrown to the wolves in a quarterback change against the Alabama Crimson Tide in 1989. He lost that game but went on to lead the Vols to back to back SEC Championships in 1989 and 1990.
In two and a half years as a starter, Kelly had a unique ability to keep his team in games when all hope seemed lost. He led an amazing Sugar Bowl comeback over the Virginia Cavaliers in 1990. Then, in 1991, he led one of the greatest comebacks in history when the Vols beat the Notre Dame Fighting Irish 35-34 after being down 31-7.
