The best QB in recent SEC history and he doesn’t get to finish with the Heisman trophy. Any other year and he would be a shoe in but Smith is a once in a generation talent. But Mac was deserving for the record setting season he had this year under more difficult competition than any other QB in the conference has ever faced.

Mac is a great QB and was very deserving of the award.

I think Smith would have been more okay with Mac winning it than Mac is with Smith winning it.

I also think that is what showed through to all with no runaway QB leader and is the reason Smith one.

Team player and completely selfless.

That said, what a great year for CFB. Trask and Mac were great storylines for commitment to the team, staying with the process and effort.

Smith and many others stood out as players and people of real character committed to their teams.

I'm pretty sure that Mac Jones didn't get to the CFP wondering if he was going to be given an individual award.

Max Jones can always come back next year with a chip on his shoulder and win it

Don’t feel bad Mac is going to be a multi-millionaire very soon.

"More difficult competition .....". Burrow beat 7 teams rated in the Top 10 at the time LSU played them. Including teams ranked #1, 2, 3 & 4 pre season. Last I counted, Jones will have beaten 5. bama playing an all Power 5 teams vs LSU having played a couple of powder puffs is, at best, a wash. But 7 Top Ten teams vs 5 Top Ten teams?? Point LSU.

Meh... I think winning the Johnny Unitas award, an SEC championship, Rose Bowl title, on the verge of winning a national title, and setting yourself up to make millions in the future are nice consolation prizes..

Also when you think about it objectively, his story is frickin incredible... Most figured that he would be nothing more than a backup his entire career. He was Tua's backup.. Played well at times, when give his shot, not so well at other times.. So how does he respond? Comes back the next year, having developed one of the most dangerous QB's in Bama history... Tua and Brodie Croyle were probably Bama's most gifted QB's I've ever seen. But if I had a choice I'd take Mac over both in a heartbeat.. While not the most naturally gifted QB, the hard work that he put in shows more character than most people will ever have...

Finally being a serious Heisman trophy contender is something that 95% or perhaps even more will never experience.. So call me crazy, but I think Mac will sleep just fine tonight..

Don't! Mac has won plenty of hardware this year and too many accolades to number!!

However, there's only one more trophy that he is got his eyes and heart set on..That will come Monday,January 11, 2021 7pm from the Orange bowl in Miami, Fla.

Can you dig it? I knew that u could!

Eh, he’ll get a NFL payday so don’t feel too bad.
At the end of the day, Smith is straight up the better athlete and a QB getting it over him would be some BS.

What Jones should be upset about is T Law being in the same conversation as him.

Dude was hyped to the moon and came up way too short against actually tough competition. I don’t know if it was complacency or what, but I would think he has a good chance of being a NFL bust if you ask me.

It’s fricking stupid he finished second. Shouldn’t even been there at all if you ask me.

True. If he had been a 5 star recruit, he would've won the Heisman. It's amazing how HS ratings follow a guy for life.

Because he was a 3 star, people think he's just a system QB, but his play this year has been absolutely exceptional.
