With a crime rate of 49 per one thousand residents, Tuscaloosa has one of the highest crime rates in America compared to all communities of all sizes - from the smallest towns to the very largest cities.
One's chance of becoming a victim of either violent or property crime here is one in 20. Within Alabama, more than 87% of the communities have a lower crime rate than Tuscaloosa.
With a population of 101,129, Tuscaloosa has a combined rate of violent and property crime that is very high compared to other places of similar population size.
Regardless of whether Tuscaloosa does well or poorly compared to all other cities and towns in the US of all sizes, compared to places with a similar population, it fares badly. Few other communities of this size have a crime rate as high as Tuscaloosa.

Ohio St has been pandered to all season.
Eh, them and Nebraska were the only two programs trying to play when the Big10 initially cancelled their entire season, even trying to schedule a bunch of non-conference games the Big 10 still wouldn't let them do. It took people who mattered at both schools filing lawsuits against the conference for them to walk back their ridiculous cancellations. It's not their fault their conference's commissioner is a liberal moron who was trying to be a trend setter. OSU wasn't trying to dodge the entire season like their conference officials were. Yes, they got preferential treatment with their conference, but it never should have come to that if their conference didn't have ridiculous contact tracing rules in the first place. And I don't really care at this point that the CFP let them in after what they did to Clemson. They clearly were one of the two best teams in college football this year. I'm just sick and tired of all the crying from fans of other schools about them. Shouldn't we want the best teams to play for the national title and, if possible, have both teams be at full strength when they play?
I think it's pretty clear why many Alabama fans don't want the game to be played. They don't want Fields to have any more time to heal because they don't want him at full strength. Postponing the game a week or whatever shouldn't matter otherwise. Sark is still going to coach. He said he will coach through the national title game. He didn't say he's done on a specific date.
I swear, only Alabama fans could bring me to defend Ohio State

This is why the Big 10 shouldn’t have been allowed in this season.

Doubtful.
You made a post years ago asking which side of the field tiger fans sit on in tiger stadium.
I had a good come back to William but I'm going to keep it. It doesn't get any better than this.

Sark said this with an understanding the game would be played January 11th, not the 18th. We don't give a red shite about Fields being healthy or hurt.
He looked terrible against Northwestern when he was completely healthy.

I don't think you are trolling with this. I think you actually believe that.
You are wrong.

That's the price one pays for being on a team full of talented players. Share the wealth. Waddle average? You're trying way too hard clown.

That argument works both ways. With contact tracing, it's not a guarantee OSU has all their players back the following Monday, so this just reeks of them wanting that extra week to get Fields healthy while they use Covid as an excuse. And given the other favors they got this year to get them to this point, it's just eye rolling.
I do agree they deserved to be in the playoffs, and that them only playing 6 games wasn't entirely their fault. And honestly, I'd rather beat them at full strength, but it's not like we aren't without one of our best players in Landon Dickerson.

Has Coach O been seen there doing any consulting?

Numbers don’t lie.
He averages about 655 yards + 5.6 TDs per season.
He’s slightly above average - does that help your feelings?

You research Alabama stats more than anybody on this board.
LSU fans are proud of you.

Has he said if the game is postponed a week then he's out? You think Texas would renege on his contract if he says he's still gonna keep coaching?

I'm sure the boosters at Texas, the ones who pay his salary, would prefer him to concentrate on building his staff in Austin and finishing up their recruiting class.
Asking him to delay that a week because two players on Ohio State may have the Wu Flu is fricking asinine.

Regarding Sark, I don't think the game possibly being postponed was even on anyone's radar until this afternoon, so I doubt he or Texas had even considered it. Nobody has any idea how that would go.
And as a Bama fan, Fields absolutely worries me. He's a damn good football player. I think he plays no matter when the game is played, so this may all be moot. Of course, an extra week to heal broken ribs could make a huge difference.

Agreements are made with explicit language but came be based on assumed, implied underlying facts. Saying "I'm staying through the national championship game" clearly implied "I'm staying through the national championship game on January 11th." Now, does that mean he definitely will leave if the title game moves back 7 days? No, I don't think so, but I do think that it's very possible he has to reassess everything about it. He has a very limited window to set up his entire infrastructure before recruiting is full on and he tries to fill out a class, not to mention all the other stuff that goes along with taking over a massive power 5 football job and one he definitely wants to get right under a huge microscope.
I don't care either way about who plays or doesn't play for Ohio State or how they feel. I hope everyone who can heal up heals up before next Monday. But playing games means kids get hurt, as we well know, so I'm also not going to feel like they got the shaft if we play the game when it is supposed to be played and they have kids sore and bruised.

If the game is inevitably postponed, I would be shocked if Texas didn't honor their agreement to let him coach the championship game before reporting to Austin.

I do too. He'd get a shot to numb the pain enough and deal with it.

Not sure about huge difference a week makes. They usually take 4-6 weeks or so to heal. But football players play with broken ribs all the time. Jarvis Landry, I know, broke his ribs in week 5 this year and didn't miss any games due to it. His only missed game was when he tested positive for COVID in week 16. Unless the break is really bad, it's more about pain management than anything.
